If you are also doing absolutely nothing? I've had a terrible Christmas and I live alone, I've ordered a load of shit food from McColls (via Uber eats) including crumpets, crisps and pizza, and I'm staying in bed all day binge watching Motherland.

I feel slightly guilty when I think about all of the wholesome families going for dog walks, playing games etc. but also, fuck moving.

Anyone else doing similar to me today? Do share so I feel less of a lazy pig! 🤣

I'm having a day off today. My plan is to finish my Negroni, then have a shower and change into clean pyjamas and then read while DH watches football.

My lovely adult DC who have come home for Christmas cleaned up the kitchen this morning (i cooked for 12 yesterday) and will be preparing the evening meal.

Justme10 · 26/12/2022 15:01

Boxing Day is always a lazy day here!
Christmas Day is always so busy it's nice to have a day to relax, the kids can play with their new toys and we just pick at buffet food all day Xmas Grin

whatisforteamum · 26/12/2022 15:07

Got up at 530 as I get up earlier for my job, couldn't laze about as I did the last 2 days.I will get irritable.
Did chores, visited dm popped into shops and bought a top, decluttered the loft.
Now for tv in bed with snacks and chilling out.
I've worked boxing day for decades and dreamt of this.
Boxing day is the best bit of the whole week.Leftovers and a drink.
Cheers.

Loving today. Still in pjs, it’s raining and windy outside. There’s loads of cold leftovers in the fridge, so I won’t be cooking. Going for a long soak soon with my new bath oil. And for once I don’t feel guilty.

MotherWol · 26/12/2022 15:12

Normally team Wholesome Walks but DH and I both have this hideous bug, so it’s pyjamas and tv here today. The kids have played with their toys, I’ve read and drunk tea on the sofa. Thought I’d be more cabin-fever about it but it actually feels pretty normal after two covid christmases.

LizzieBet14 · 26/12/2022 15:12

I'm going to do as little as I can get away with. Yesterday was manically busy & stressful at times (trying to take the positives) so tv & treats for me today. No regrets.....

itsgettingweird · 26/12/2022 15:16

🙋‍♀️

I didn't sleep well and had a really bad pain above my nose in my forehead whenever I woke up.

Eventually took some ibuprofen at about 5am.

Today though my shoulder and tops of my arms ache like mad like I e done a full on workout (I haven't 🤣) and my head feels almost light and empty yet headachy.

I've pretty much slept and ate all day inbetween watching TV.

AdoraBell · 26/12/2022 15:18

I’m jealous Envy

We left at 10 to drive DD1 back to Wales, from Somerset, because she’s starting work at 6pm. Had a walk around, stopped for lunch, Aldi to get her groceries and now en route home. I’m bloody knackered.

HaggisWurst · 26/12/2022 15:18

Lazy day here. We had a rough 5 weeks with back to back toddler illness and I'm 35 weeks pregnant. We've literally had the telly on most of the day with family films on in the background, DS very occupied playing with his new toys from yesterday. Leaving the clean washing and dishwasher to be done tomorrow, and just watching telly / interacting with DS and snacking all day. We'll do some chores tomorrow and get ds out to the park but that's it.

CornishGem1975 · 26/12/2022 15:18

I have a big family and still doing fuck all. This Christmas has been quite shit.

Andsoforth · 26/12/2022 15:18

Traditionally it’s a very day here with lots of exercise and several healthy, wholesome walks: from my bed to the sofa; sofa to the fridge and back; do some stretches and lunges to the tin of chocolates, and finally a steep uphill climb back to bed.

fernz · 26/12/2022 15:19

Pyjamas, tv and party food here too. One last lazy day and tomorrow I'll go for a long walk again.

NoDairyNoProblem · 26/12/2022 15:22

Entire family are having a pyjama day here. Adult DC’s are sleeping off their hangovers having got home at 6am. Tweenager is playing a board game with DH and I am just out the bath into new pyjamas and scrolling MN with a cup of tea. Bliss.

nancydroo · 26/12/2022 15:34

Under the duvet drinking Prosecco whilst DH has gone to the match. Both kids are plugged in. Have crap telly on (Mary Poppins) Xmas tree lights on lazing in a dark room feeling lovely and snuggly despite the appearance of two new bellys in my new Xmas pyjamas. Very happy!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/12/2022 15:38

I'm in a blanket on the settee, eating my Xmas chocolates. Got Murder, She Wrote on the telly cos there's nothing else on. DH is playing on his computer. I dropped some family home earlier so it's just us two in the peace. Except for the howling wind outside!

FestivePinkFairy · 26/12/2022 15:46

We're slothing today too. We were meant to be doing the extended family thing at the IL's but half the family have covid so it's been cancelled. So instead I'm in my comfies alternating between reading and internetting. DH is watching sport and the two adult DC are playing games. We'll eat leftovers later. Perfect day.

Hamster1111 · 26/12/2022 15:49

Family have gone home, dh watching the football, I've eaten my body weight in crisps and dip and now I'm mumsnetting in the bath with wine. Slothy and lovely! Cheers

Soproudoflionesses · 26/12/2022 15:56

Hosted 10 people yesterday and had a wonderful day.
But today is all about restk g- went for a token Boxing Day walk in the sunshine and am currently on the sofa whilst DH and DD both snooze.
I am not tired because l didn't get out of bed until noon!

bruce43mydog · 26/12/2022 16:06

I've done all my cleaning and laundry loads. Only took 45 minutes because i've been keeping on top of it. Currently sat on the settee under my duvet eating tortilla chips was going be be cheesy giant wotsits, but fancied tortilla chips. I'm going to make everyone a cup of tea in a minute. Just on mumsnet and watching midsummer murders 25th anniversary program. My Mum is cooking for us all today. I will wash up after tea and then i shall walk the dog and get a lovely bath bomb bath latter and just chill for the rest of the night.

Timeturnerplease · 26/12/2022 16:07

The moment my children are old enough to entertain themselves, I plan to spend my entire Boxing Day on the sofa. As it is DH took them to the park this morning while I cleaned, he cooked lunch while DD16mo napped and DD4 conned me into building her new fire station toy then this afternoon has been a blur of refereeing their scraps while trying to declutter the playroom.

Those of you who have the freedom to sloth today, DO IT. Not one ounce of judgement here!

ToffeeNotCoffee · 26/12/2022 16:37

DH and I popped out to get some milk.

Came home and set up our new phones which we gifted to each other yesterday. That was quicker and less stressful than I was expecting. We seem to be out of 'set up hell' now. Did I speak too quickly ?

Had a lunch of cold roast chicken, gammon, sausage rolls, pickles etc etc

After we had tidied up after lunch, we made a cup of tea and are watching Top Gun Maverick and are enjoying artisan chocolates.

steff13 · 26/12/2022 16:39

Well, here it is just December 26, not Boxing Day. But I'm on vacation this week and I have an abscessed tooth, so I'm resting while I wait for the antibiotics to do their work. I feel tired and grumpy.

mamabear715 · 26/12/2022 20:07

Sorry for those not feeling well, & the car-backed-into-the-tree poster.. :-(

We had turkey sandwiches & watched the Reds beat Villa.. sorry not sorry, Villa fans..

bluetongue · 26/12/2022 20:58

It’s 38 degrees where I am so being sloth like is recommended by medical professionals 😁

Did go to a couple of shops for essentials on sale but was grateful to come home after I was nearly involved in a car park rage scene 😡To the stupid woman in the silver hatchback you don’t pull up partly behind a person about to back out and then honk at them when they refuse to do so because they don’t want a crash. I’m ashamed to say I got out of my car and yelled at her ‘I don’t have a reversing camera you know’. Not my finest moment …

WhatLikeItsHard · 26/12/2022 21:04

If it makes you feel any better, my main motivation to go for a walk earlier was so we could escape family for a couple of hours.
