If you are also doing absolutely nothing? I've had a terrible Christmas and I live alone, I've ordered a load of shit food from McColls (via Uber eats) including crumpets, crisps and pizza, and I'm staying in bed all day binge watching Motherland.

I feel slightly guilty when I think about all of the wholesome families going for dog walks, playing games etc. but also, fuck moving.

Anyone else doing similar to me today? Do share so I feel less of a lazy pig! 🤣

None of the rest of my family are up.

I'm enjoying the peace.

Boooooot · 26/12/2022 13:45

We got hit hard with the flu last night. Spent all night shaking, sweating and being sick. Today we have tidied up from yesterday but that’s it. Jammies and films.

SnowAndIceLobelia · 26/12/2022 13:52

I have this damned cold that has been going about and yesterday floored me. So I am MNetting and watching tv with the Dcs while DH is being very active on DIY. I feel guilty and as if I should be 'doing something'.

bottersnikes · 26/12/2022 14:03

I'm also still in bed, recovering from one of the horrible viruses doing the rounds and making the most of not having to go to work.
I love lazy pyjama days, no guilt here!

Dreamingof3 · 26/12/2022 14:09

At home with my 3 and 6 year olds. We got up at 9.30, we've lived on crisps and sausage rolls etc, still in our PJ's (the 3 year old is now dressed as a fairy)...might stick them in the bath later but other than that we're done for the day. It's been great, they're playing with their presents and I'm alternatively playing with them or watching rubbish TV!

BestIsWest · 26/12/2022 14:10

I’m recovering from illness so although I’ve nipped out to take some leftovers to DM, I’m mostly lying on the sofa eating chocolate and watching the birds on the bird table. We’ll have leftovers for tea later.

PeaceJoySleep · 26/12/2022 14:15

I'm in bed! Listening to YouTube clips. I had a toasted sandwich in bed earlier. Sod the walk. I want to do nothing.
The Italians have a name for this. La dolce de far niente.
Now that is a philosophy I can really get behind.

Rainbow1901 · 26/12/2022 14:16

DH is loving the fact that my voice has disappeared!! We are both watching TV snacking on leftovers and sweets.
We are due out to a family party after 5 so will put in an appearance and come back home for Death in Paradise!

bellac11 · 26/12/2022 14:16

Its what Christmas was invented for, enjoy it!!

Always4Brenner · 26/12/2022 14:20

Don’t do walks Christmas Day or Boxing Day don’t be;I’ve in it not those days they are for chilling out etc.

Marmite27 · 26/12/2022 14:22

It’s absolutely pissing it down here. No chance of a walk. Just trying to set up the karaoke machine for the kids to keep them out of my hair!

blackheartsgirl · 26/12/2022 14:23

I have been out for a walk because the dogs needed walking which was nice but oh my god everyone was out with thier dogs.

back now, In bed, House is a tip, I’m drinking coffee and eating chocolate and it’s bloody lovely.

Boxing day is far better than Xmas day!

TheFeistyFeminist · 26/12/2022 14:23

Boxing Day is a lazy, suit yourself day, in our house (and we were just us for yesterday so it wasn't exactly formal).

Daughter went for a soak in the bath, husband is pottering in the garage, I'm sitting on the sofa knitting and drinking tea.

Utter bliss. Family visiting tomorrow so today we take it easy.

planefullofotters · 26/12/2022 14:29

All we’ve done today is eat Pringles, listen to Cabin Pressure and watch Sherlock. Nothing too great on telly so reaching for old faves!

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/12/2022 14:34

I finished a night shift this morning, have had an hours sleep. Now catching up with what I missed last night on tv.

I’m the same Tudors on for about eight hours.

harriethoyle · 26/12/2022 14:39

I'm drinking red wine in the bath and planning what to order from justeat later on 😄 glass onion on the telly tonight and reading Christmas books in between. The perfect day!

Quizzed · 26/12/2022 14:41

I should be at work today but I have covid so I'm also in bed binge watching the recruite eating crap. Thank goodness I haven't lost my appetite or sense of taste.

JonahAndTheSnail · 26/12/2022 14:44

Same here. I was going to do some baking, take the dog for a long walk and cook a roast for tonight. Then it started peeing it down, so I figured I'll have a lazy day today and try again tomorrow (or the day after). Not even got as far as choosing something to watch whilst I veg out, just mindlessly scrolling Netflix in a haze of indecision.

roarfeckingroarr · 26/12/2022 14:45

My toddler and partner are out at in laws all day. I've stayed home as I'm heavily pregnant and can't be arsed don't want to travel a few hours each way. I've spent the morning having a two hour nap and seem to have bought a bag in the Mulberry sale. Just having a shower before a walk around a few shops to get a last minute present and then maybe another snooze. Best Boxing Day ever.

Fondantginger · 26/12/2022 14:45

We were the family doing the wholesome family dog walk this morning. Took two hours to decide where to go, DH moaned as it was icy, DD hurt her back and cried (in the furthest point into the woods), dog rolled in copious amounts of poo. Was not what I had in mind.
Now doing bugger all watching DH build Christmas toys. Enjoy your lazy day OP!

cptartapp · 26/12/2022 14:48

We were planning a lazy day, until DS1 backed his car into our garden tree on his way out to work. Shattered the rear window and dented the boot.
Just spent two hours in the hail picking up glass off the grass, hoovering out the car and patching it up to keep the rain out.
Happy Boxing Day.

Oblomov22 · 26/12/2022 14:49

Nothing. We've all watched football.

VinoDino · 26/12/2022 14:54

I live alone and opted out of a family Christmas as every year I come away feeling like shit and I'm getting over the cold. Not how I envisioned my Christmas would be like at 40 but from the threads on here many had it worse than me. Least I got to cook what I want and drink what I want.

Today I've managed to wash hair, nip out to stock up on wine that I ran out last night and (more) Baileys which I'll be cracking open shortly whilst watching the end of The Witches. Have lots of lovely leftovers and cheese ready for a cosy evening. Happy days.

thelobsterquadrille · 26/12/2022 14:57

I didn't get up properly until 10.30am, then I had a quick shower and I've been on the sofa eating leftovers and watching films all day Grin

DH is in bed having nap and the dog is going between us depending on who he fancies cuddling!
