Hi all, sorry to post here but slow traffic on Child’s health and I’ve got myself into a right state as I have bad health anxiety.
My DD came up to me a moment ago and said a lump behind her ear was hurting. This is the first time she has mentioned a lump or any pain. She does have a real stinker of a cold, which she has had for a couple weeks now (super snotty nose, she had a couple of headaches when it started, she did have a cough etc). I’ve had a look and I can definitely see two lumps behind her ear; the bigger one feels boney but the smaller one feels a bit squishy - about the size of a pea. The bigger one is on top and the smaller underneath (see pic)
Would you think these are enlarged lymph nodes caused by the bad cold? My mind always jumps to worse case scenario. I have googled and we do have lymph nodes behind our ears and I know kids are more reactive to bugs and such, so their lymph nodes can react more than an adults.
What would you think? Lymph nodes or something else? If I press them she says they hurt.
thanks
