To feel let down by Waitrose Entertaining

This morning I had a delivery from Waitrose including meat for tomorrow and fish for tonight. Except the fish was missing completely!
I had ordered it in November from Waitrose Entertaining and I can't understand how it can be missing if it was made to order for me?! Where did it go?

I had 14 people for dinner tonight! I had to go and try to find some other main and try to rustle up something else at very short notice after they didn't deliver the fish this morning. I feel really let down. They could have said the night before or something!
Has anyone had a similar experience?

How would I know what Waitrose did with your fish? Have you tried calling customer services and asking them?

OliveHenry · 24/12/2022 23:40

Similar complaints on this thread, so you're not alone (though that's not much consolation!)

Yep

I left Waitrose for this exact reason. There have even been news stories about how they are failing to fulfil orders.

The customer service is appalling too. It's so disappointing but I've moved over to Ocado / M&S now and they get it right every time.

This reply is like the Amazon question and answer section where people think they're being asked personally how a product works 😂

She didn't ask if you knew what Waitrose did with her fish. She asked if anyone else had similar experiences. Have you tried getting help with your comprehension skills?

Fish didn’t arrive, asked around on mumsnet but nobody had seen it, so can only give it 1 stars

Have you? I may be drunk but even I can comprehend the question at the end of the first para of the op.

That would be what’s known as a rhetorical question.

I know Waitrose is meant to be the bee knees , but it's not is it . So many people been let down . I wouldn't give them another chance , make different arrangements next year .

Would it now?

I love those!

"Can this product be used in water?"

"I don't know, haven't used it yet, sorry."

I’ve had this problem with them before so didn’t bother this year. Christmas is out & we’ll have a proper dinner with extended family when the shops open.

suzyscat · 25/12/2022 00:12

Gosh I really miss the days when you could get Waitrose food ordered and delivered competently by Ocado and their intuitive UI.

M&S food puts me off Ocado tbh, but at least they tend to be reliable.

Wow the OP of that post was in my same situation. I also found out from the email a couple of hours before my delivery slot and I also got a rubbish reply, not even much of an apology, when I rang customer service to find out why they weren't delivering the fish.

I had this with Morrisons to order service. Ordered from them for a kids party. All the "made to order" cakes didn't turn up!

Nat6999 · 25/12/2022 00:44

I dumped Waitrose after I had stuff missing last year & was charged for it, I suspect the driver took them because they were all high value items.
