To not answer the door

I took a package in for my neighbour yesterday (23/12) I text her to let her know & we were home for her to collect it, she responded thank you, she will drop by later.
Anyway it’s still sitting in my porch, it’s small so not in the way but I bet she knocks for it tomorrow, Christmas Day.

Christmas day for us is only the 4 of us at home all day, playing games, eating, drinking and watching films/Christmas tv.

AIBU to not answer the door because I simply don’t want to deal with other people? She’s had over 24hr to get it.

Don't be such a shut-in weirdo! Open the door and give the lass her parcel, FFS.

Has it really come to the point that your support for neighbours and community doesn't even extend to 10 seconds on Christmas Day! 🙁

Not saying it should not have been posted but it would have taken longer to type the op than it needed to take to open the door and hand over the parcel 'here's the parcel, sorry gotta go I have....'

Maybe she's been rushed off her feet prepping for Christmas and the parcel has slipped her mind?

Sometimes when I need to avoid idle chitchat with a neighbour who knocks, I grab my phone prior to answering and pretend to be on a call, mouthing an apologetic “sorry this is important” to the neighbour. I then smile sweetly and give them whatever it is and shut the door. 😂
My neighbour knocks on a lot and talks a lot. Usually I don’t mind but sometimes I’m not even dressed for the occasion.

Did she call round for it today ?
