No. Never watch it. The royals are a waste of space. Ridiculous concept.

nalabae · 24/12/2022 19:45

Personally I have never watched a full queens speech never been interested

Exactly. Harry has been the only one who has actually been racist.

Say what now???
What about dear old.Phil and his many racist remarks over the years including g the slitty eye comment?

It's not racist to wonder what someone's child will look like. My friend and I had exactly the same conversation when she was pregnant with her mixed race twins.

It is however racist to show concern about how dark an unborn child skin might b e which y is what Harry reportedly said happened .

BMW6 · 24/12/2022 19:49

Yeah, I'm with you on this OP, as are all my 6 siblings.

We'll be watching Charles, cheering him on but missing the Queen at the same time.

Americano75 · 24/12/2022 19:51

No. But then, I've never watched it.

thelobsterquadrille · 24/12/2022 19:53

No. I've never, ever watched the Queens Speech, and I won't be watching Charles either.

NippyWoowoo · 24/12/2022 19:54

No, HTH

TheChosenTwo · 24/12/2022 19:56

It’s of no consequence to my life, I’ve never ever watched the queen’s speech and I sure as hell won’t be tuning in for his!

Cosycover · 24/12/2022 20:01

You miss her?
Really?

Travis1 · 24/12/2022 20:03

🤣🤣🤣🤣 you’re at the wind up right?

Yesthatismychildsigh · 24/12/2022 20:11

cariadlet · 24/12/2022 17:55

It's going to be a bit odd to be avoiding the King's speech instead of avoiding the Queen's speech but it's not something that I feel sad about.

😂

Mistletoeandwinee · 24/12/2022 20:21

I never bothered watching the queen's speech. Never understood the significance of it growing up. However, I am actually really excited to see what Charles has to say for the first speech. I understand the historical significance more now I'm older.

hcnirg · 24/12/2022 20:23

Why does anyone waste their time listening to those parasites?

They aren't the nice, innocent people you see on the TV

purplecheesecat · 24/12/2022 20:25

As usual, I won’t be watching. I’m very much against the Royal Family.

Ohyoudodoyou · 24/12/2022 20:28

Yes. I have watched her as long as I can remember.

USSDefiant · 24/12/2022 20:31

Get a grip

willstarttomorrow · 24/12/2022 20:31

We never watched the Queens speech and will not watch the King's. It just is not part of our day. However she was part of all our lives, and I am not Royalist by any stretch of the imagination. I love history and have mellowed in my viewpoint having nearly reached 50- I respect her stoicism and understand 'soft power' and its benefits much better than when I was in my 20's.

purpledalmation · 24/12/2022 20:32

Didn't rally watch it but sad she's not there. A true icon.

whoareyouinviting · 24/12/2022 20:32

Yea it has crossed my mind and yes it feels sad.

Duchess379 · 24/12/2022 20:37

Yeah, it's not going to be the same without her 👑🎄

CakeWarrior · 24/12/2022 20:40

Im feeling sad about it too - it will be so strange. I always timed dinner around it so that we could have the break to watch the queen before dessert. Her sense of duty was immense and I for one will always have huge amounts of respect for her.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 24/12/2022 20:50

Er.. nope, never watched it, too busy having Christmas

StrawberryWater · 24/12/2022 20:52

I’m sure Charles is, she was his mother after all.

I’m being facetious of course.

Seriously though, no. Never watched it. No intention of watching King Chuck either.

Nonimai · 24/12/2022 20:59

Yes. I have been thinking about this on and off for a few days. I do miss her - and I also love traditions at Christmas of which ‘ the speech’ was one.
