What presents would you love to get tomorrow but know you won't? Light hearted

I got my present last month (a heated throw) so I won't get anything tomorrow.

However, I would love to receive a body oil I love. Husband knows I want it and where to get it because he's been looking out for a deal for me to buy it for myself. It's normally £30. He would earn MAJOR brownie points but even if I hadn't already got my present he would never think to buy it for me.

Or an eternity ring but that is never going to happen. Ever.

A westie puppy. My adored westie died last year and I miss her terribly. I am desperate for another dog but my dh isn't so sure. If I get a puppy tomorrow I will cry with joy.

yahpahha · 24/12/2022 10:09

For my 11 year old not to kick off for one day... it's been a long hormonal week

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 24/12/2022 10:12

There's a painting that's been on my eBay wish list for months.

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 24/12/2022 10:17

My main gift tomorrow is that dh is cooking Xmas Dinner, with youngest daughter. Last year, I just thought everyone else looks forward to Christmas for a break. For me it's 48 hrs of slog. Ordering an Indian takeaway tonight so no feckin buffet to buy/cook and I swear it will work out cheaper.

Runnerduck34 · 24/12/2022 10:17

OP I received an eternity ring for my 50th birthday, 23 years after getting married. Did feel like an eternity and thought I'd never get one so dont abandon hope!

I would like a really thoughtful surprise gift but DH and teen / young adult DC always want ( need) links to gifts and my mum and sister normally give money and ask me to buy something for myself and my family. Which I (bizarrely) wrap up put under the tree then when they come round for Xmas we unwrap them and say thank you !! I was thinking last night why am I doing this?? !! We should just keep the money.

Anyway I'm deviating, a thoughtful surprise gift and someone to take the some of the mental load ( and perhaps notice the bins need emptying and take the rubbish out by themselves AND put a new bin liner in)

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 24/12/2022 10:23

Any gift to open to be honest. I was supposed to be going to family but they’ve all come down with covid so I’m home alone with no presents or food in (yet - need to stir self to get something in to eat).

CrapBucket · 24/12/2022 10:26

An electrician for a day or two. A curtain taker-upper. And someone to pick up the dog poo from the garden.

Or just for me to not be lazy and do all the above!

Get well soon to all the poorly people Flowers

pigsducksandchickens · 24/12/2022 10:27

A trip to Coronation street. I would LOVE that but what I would love more is for DH to book it and surprise me. I am quite sad really that it will never happen. He doesn't do anything to surprise me any more. He will have surprises to open tomorrow, I know exactly what I'm getting as I told him what to get. We've been together for nearly 30 years, it's not like he doesn't know me!

Figgypudding123 · 24/12/2022 10:28

All I want is to get through the next 10 days without me or family members contracting, Covid, flu, strep A, dengue fever, malaria etc. Had so much disruption to family Christmases in 2020 and 2021 due to illness. Just want a normal get-together for once.

motherstongue · 24/12/2022 10:28

FOPE lariat necklace that I’ve been drooling over for more than a year. Love it so much but it’s sooooo expensive so on one hand if I got it, I’d be delighted but on the other hand, I’d be horrified at so much money being spent on me 🤷‍♂️

CharlotteStreetW1 · 24/12/2022 10:31

Lovely bath stuff and candles. No one ever buys me this stuff and it's all I want!

Tickets to see the Abba thing again or the new Oklahoma production or the Nutcracker.

DH paid for a trip to Spain between Christmas and New Year for Christmas and birthday but we've had to postpone due to strikes. He will probably get me something to open tomorrow but it won't be any of the above #spoiledbrat

Nothing, honestly. I don't need anything. If I want something I'll go and buy it.

Someone in my family says this when asked.
But people often enjoy buying and giving presents, it's a shame to deny them that, particularly if you give them presents.

I would like a voucher which enables me not to go back to work after new year. I'd even be willing to take a pay cut Wink

@gigirlmom21 thank you! 9 months. He's never been a good sleeper, but since the 6 month regression he's had bad teething, a cold, more teething, another cold, and now separation anxiety combined with a stomach bug. Only a few days between each thing, or not at all. Ah well. He's cute and happy still.

@SlagathaChristie Mine was 6 months at his first Christmas and I was like the walking dead so I know how you feel. It didn't happen until he was nearly 5 so I hope you get there quicker than we did 🙂

StrawberryWater · 24/12/2022 10:37

A weekend away by myself. I'm running on empty with a baby and toddler. It will never happen though as dh hates being solely in charge of childcare and has never done more than 3-4 hours

Same!!! Blush we can only dream

JamSandle · 24/12/2022 10:42

An envelope containing a million pounds.

SquirrelFan · 24/12/2022 10:43

-An & other stories jumper I sent DH a link to in October
-A Grady Hendrix book I sent the whole family a link to
-An inexpensive mortar and pestle I sent the whole family a link to
-An extremely expensive Cabbages and Roses fair isle cardigan that I did not send anyone a link to, because expensive (but wouldn't it be amazing if they'd read my mind!)
-Warm socks, which I tell everyone I want every year since time immemorial and have received twice in 20 years
Nevermind, I'm pretty sure I'll get the latest Stephen King!

thismeansnothing · 24/12/2022 10:43

I'm all out of perfume for the first time in years. A bottle of Jean Paul Gautierre Classique or CK2 (which I don't think they make anymore) would be fab.

But me and the husband aren't doing presents this year. So might treat myself in the sales.

Forzatesoro · 24/12/2022 10:49

I'd love a new bed and bedroom furniture. Divorced and ££ is tight, so no hope!

I struggle to think of anything I'd like, probably eyeshadow and a bottle of Prada Infusions D'Oeilett but at £118 a bottle, it ain't happening

I'm getting what I dreamed of though, me and my kids having the dinner we want in the home I own myself, ex is staying away and a v brief visit to bickering parents.
Priceless

HairyAffairs · 24/12/2022 10:52

I would like to lose this chest infection.

Some nice jewellery and maybe some Chanel number 5 would be a welcome gift for me!

Gensola · 24/12/2022 10:56

Dyson air wrap
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleanser
Some lovely matching bra and pants sets
perfume
voucher for nose piercing

Ooh @Hairobsessed123. Good tip! Thanks.

Notsa · 24/12/2022 10:58

A puppy.

We lost our boy last month and it feels to soon for another but equally the house feels so empty. I would like one just to magically appear so I don't have to make a decision about getting one.😁

(Light-hearted obvs I would never get a puppy over Christmas and without any involvement in the process but still...)

DanielRicciardosSmile · 24/12/2022 11:02

I wanted the Dark Materials books, but I know no one has bought me them.

Never mind, I'll treat myself in January instead.
