Not to write tags?

playyourcardswrite · 23/12/2022 23:42

All presents wrapped and stocking packed. But I haven't written tags as I bloody well hate it, and a friend has questioned why I bother since it's only DC1 and me in the house.

But I feel bad that I haven't. Should I write them? Does everyone else do tags?

I also don't wrap stocking gifts and feel like I've pretty much chucked it by not doing tags either!

YANBU only you and DC in the house.

If I give gifts, I write a 'to & from' on a bit of paper and tape it on the present. As basic as it gets.

Merryoldgoat · 23/12/2022 23:45

I do tags for external presents.

For the family living here we have individual paper. Tags are unnecessary.

I love wrapping but wrapping the contents of a stocking is a mug’s game.

Shatterproof9 · 23/12/2022 23:45

I can’t be assed with tags, I just use different paper for each kid 😅

Ludoole · 23/12/2022 23:46

I use different paper for different people. They know who my gifts are from.

AppleKatie · 23/12/2022 23:47

I don’t do tags for people living here, yes to different paper anything else is madness.

I do wrap stocking gifts though and think that it’s a bit part of the excitement and would be a let down for me/the kids if I didn’t.

I've written DC1, but meant DC18. Aged 18. My only DC.

I do tags simply so I know who the presents are for / from. If you don't need them I don't know why you'd feel guilty. It's not a significant part of the present.

This year I've stopped doing all the ribbon/bows. I'd say it's to be environmentally friendly but it's more down to being lazy as I actually have a whole box of them leftover from last year.

katmarie · 23/12/2022 23:49

I have 2dc, I bought preprinted stickers with their initial on because I cba with writing tags. Might do it for everyone next year.

Hohohole · 23/12/2022 23:50

I just write their initial on the presents from us. I'm very lazy though. They don't seem to care.

Pterrydactyl · 23/12/2022 23:51

I write on the paper with a marker pen.

playyourcardswrite · 23/12/2022 23:52

This is reassuring!

I haven't written tags for anyone else's presents, and for some reason I don't care so much about that! I know which is which.

Nope no tags. Each kids has own paper.

Chouetted · 24/12/2022 00:23

I've been wary of tags since the year we used cheap sellotape and they all fell off...

dizzydizzydizzy · 24/12/2022 00:25

We use stickers and simply write name of recipient on the sticker - so DM, DC1 etc

steff13 · 24/12/2022 00:33

I do tags but I buy gifts for more than one person. If you're just buying for one person then there's no need although I also don't know why you would hate it, it's just a sticky label with a name written on it.
