Guys I can't

She is not stop

Most kitchen work too

Most of the plugs now

She will not stop

Is there a spray or plug in device

I love her too much to be cross but I do need to see what can stop her ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️

ColdHandsHotHead · 23/12/2022 22:29

wipe them down with vinegar, cats hate it

ReindeerRockabillie · 23/12/2022 22:30

Mines just pissed on my bed. Not impressed

Notanotherusername4321 · 23/12/2022 22:30

How many cats do you have/are there many locally?

I had this, it was stress territorial issues.

we had to find him a one cat only home semi rural as every house on our street had two cats and there wasn’t enough room.

plus an initial course of anti anxiety drugs to break the habit.

thisisasurvivor · 23/12/2022 22:30

I do keep her out of the kitchen

I do all the reasonable. Things possible

Trust me I do

Vinegar

Ok that's good to know

Thank you xxxx

Take her to the vets. Unusual behaviour, especially urinary behaviour, is a sign of ill health and/or stress.

Singleandproud · 23/12/2022 22:30

Have you taken her to the vets to see if she has a bladder infection?

Meredithwho · 23/12/2022 22:31

It’s most likely stress. Christmas decorations, more people than usual in the house, a new cat in the area she can see through the windows etc it can be anything. Stress induced cystitis. I’d take her to the vet for antiinflammatories, a urinary supplement and get more litter trays.

try laying foil strips over the kitchen sides when you go out - a nuisance, I know, but you should be able to lift the strips up to use the ides, then put them down again when you finish

Notanotherusername4321 · 23/12/2022 22:38

Sorry if she’s one of 5 she may need a home where she’s the only cat.

it’s likely to be stress over her territory.

MilkyYay · 23/12/2022 22:40

5 in one house is probably the cause. Are they siblings/related or no?

Zombiemum1946 · 23/12/2022 22:40

Sorry but you may need to rehome. If she's being bullied by the others she probably needs to be the only cat in a home. It does sound like a stress reaction.

Roseyleaf · 23/12/2022 22:40

Do you have enough litter trays? You need one for every cat plus one extra in different locations in the house.

The foil tip works well to keep them off worktops but if it's a territorial stress issue she's just going to find somewhere else inappropriate to pee.

thisisasurvivor · 23/12/2022 22:41

Not related

Large house two have upstairs

Three have free range dowbstair
Litter box cat flaps

You name it

So interesting

We have a huge home

Loads of space

Litter trays x7

Zyclene? Get it from pets at home

imaditto · 23/12/2022 22:43

Cats detest tin foil so cover worktops and sink or alternatively lay towels for absorption

I have a protesting cat too

Silverstreaks · 23/12/2022 22:44

Feed her on the bench. She will stop weeing there

thisisasurvivor · 23/12/2022 22:46

Thanks so much v v helpful

She is v v loved so rehoming not on the cards

OP posts:
FleeceDuvet · 23/12/2022 22:46

Five cats is too many. They are territorial so unless you have siblings or ones that have grown up together or match in personality you are going to have trouble.

LaPerduta · 23/12/2022 22:51

Why do you keep writing your posts like a series of haiku?!

Anyway, yes, tin foil. I think they dislike citrus, too.

Or, to put it another way:

If your cat won't stop
Peeing on work surfaces
Put down kitchen foil.
