Forgive me Christmas for I have sinned

I made jacket potatoes with beans as a side for dinner tonight. Realised I had run out of cheese for topping and so I opened the Christmas cheese selection box to use the cheddar from that. Obviously using any food designated as Christmas food before Christmas is strictly forbidden! AIBU?

Tell me your Christmas sins...

We are eating the salted caramel Lindors before the adult children get here tomorrow!

I think this is just sensible!

Some things are not made for sharing apparently!! 😆

Being chocolates - I could give every single one of them away but DH might not appreciate that sentiment!!

Bunnynames101 · 23/12/2022 21:41

I've had to replace the Christmas chocolate orange in the cupboard 3 times. 🤣

Letsrunabath · 23/12/2022 21:42

Made cheese sables on Sunday, ate them all. Made double quantity on Wednesday and ate all but 2 that I ate brewing coffee on Thursday morning. I’m usually not tempted by food but somethings are so delicious and it’s only once a year, enjoy.

doubleshotcappuccino · 23/12/2022 21:44

Bought Salted Caramel Irish Cream from LIDL .. have been taste testing with DH and it's gone down a bit too well ...

I don't have a Christmas chocolate orange, I need to make this a compulsory Christmas item. Thank You!

Opened the orange Bailey's lat night. I've eaten two packets of Christmas crisps, share size. Mince pies are fair game anytime in December. Went into my DD'S room earlier and she's eaten a whole box of Lindor salted caramel. Now she's starting on the share packet of jumbo BBQ rings.

Evenstar · 23/12/2022 21:50

We have also had posh ham from the hamper my brother sends every year, so we get a fair share!! The DS’s will be very well fed though!

You've got a major problem once the kids start doing it 'cos they've got even less self control than adults 😁

AnOldCynic · 23/12/2022 21:55

I've drank a bottle of Bailey's and have had two boxes of posh chocolates this last week...

dudsville · 23/12/2022 21:55

My approach doesn't make sense. I've been happily eating panettone but i feel the cheese must wait until tomorrow.🤔

Invisablewoman · 23/12/2022 22:03

I’ve eaten three “Christmas “ cylinders of twiglets and treeslets - fuck it is what I say!

changingroom · 23/12/2022 22:03

Can we say that Christmas starts mid December so it's not a sin after that?

Rebelmcstreettuff · 23/12/2022 22:03

Opened the cheese selection, crackers, chutney and posh crisps cause I couldn't be arsed to cook tonight.
Also opened the orange matchmakers 😀

Invisablewoman · 23/12/2022 22:04

Officially heaven

Spanglybangles · 23/12/2022 22:05

@Bunnynames101 you see that’s just amateur behaviour that. You buy at least half a dozen chocolate oranges, then come Christmas you decide how many you REALLY bought depending on how many you have left!! (1) 😂

Invisablewoman · 23/12/2022 22:05

daisydoods · 23/12/2022 21:34

I've just opened some of the Christmas crisps and I'm enjoying them in bed while watching rubbish tv

This I meant - this is heaven!

TheRedLip · 23/12/2022 22:06

Have scoffed the fancy, foiled wrapped Santas I bought for the DCs.

Twice.

Spanglybangles · 23/12/2022 22:07

For info….I’m on the second tube of Pringles, we’ve polished off a tub of quality Street and the crevettes and smoked salmon have taken a hammering! 😬😆

gavisconismyfriend · 23/12/2022 22:09

What are treeslets? Have I missed a key Christmas food?????

Are the Christmas nuts...twice.
Ate the Christmas pretzels... 3 times.
Bought hideously expensive chocolate covered dates for the Christmas cheeseboard but I've hidden them in my sock drawer because I can't bare to see other greedy bastards eat them...also known as my beloved family 😂

Pourmeanotherwine · 23/12/2022 22:15

Lol we did the Christmas shop on Weds, and all Christmas snacks are fair game from then on. I opened the Boursin today, and am currently sampling the orange sloe gin we bought at a Christmas market. You can only eat so much on one day.

harrassedmumto3 · 23/12/2022 22:18

Two words: chocolate orange.
