Forgive me Christmas for I have sinned

I made jacket potatoes with beans as a side for dinner tonight. Realised I had run out of cheese for topping and so I opened the Christmas cheese selection box to use the cheddar from that. Obviously using any food designated as Christmas food before Christmas is strictly forbidden! AIBU?

Tell me your Christmas sins...

An ex colleague made me laugh when she said she'd never been interested in mince pies tol she joined Weight Watchers and was given a list of banned (not sure how it was phrased) Christmas foods, mince pies being high on the list.
She saud she immediately became fascinated by mince pies and has been eating them ever since.

Forbidden food is the best food!

I ate the "extra" selection box.....it wasn't extra! I've also opened the presents as I've got them

FTHC · 23/12/2022 21:20

The Quality Street didn't make it to the 12th of December 🫣

Opening wrapped presents before Christmas is definitely sinning! Very naughty!

On our third tub of Heroes and second of Treeslets, ran out of mince pies which is a travesty. Need to try and find some tomorrow for Santas plate 🙈

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 23/12/2022 21:25

I opened the Christmas Baileys in like, October.

I think the treeslets are forgivable since you literally cannot stop eating them. But no mince pie for Santa! 😨!!

@AlwaysGinPlease Devoured an entire large jar of pickled onions.

Yikes !

For crying out loud don't f@rt, you'll peel the wallpaper off the bathroom walls

Shodan · 23/12/2022 21:28

I've lost count of the Christmas Chocolates I've eaten through December 😳

But what's far worse is that I've already eaten two tubs of Treeselets and one of Twiglets and all the shops around me have none left, so none for me on The Day😔

I opened the Christmas crisps last night and also made toast from the Christmas Eve sliced pan (for the ham sandwiches). Not only that but I used one of the GOOD CHRISTMAS NAPKINS to mop a minor spill. God help me. My mother would disown me.

Ten Hail Marys and five Our Fathers should have me covered hopefully.

I love this. You must be Irish if you're having Christmas Eve ham sambos on sliced pan? 😉

Bought chocolates for the DC’s teachers.

Dc are poorly & missed the last day of school.

Currently eaten 2 out of the 6 boxes 🫣

Christmas starts at Advent. No crimes have been committed.

This is your Christmas penance!

The tub of Quality Street had been staring at me from the kitchen worktop for 2 weeks, willing me to open it but I resisted. Then an appeal came up on the local Facebook page for prizes for a charity event and at the risk of sounding self riteous, readers, I gave the tub of sweets to a good cause! I can't remember a Christmas without over indulgence in a tub of sweets, but I won't be going to the supermarket to buy another one.

Noonesperfect · 23/12/2022 21:32

I bought the cat a present - a JML flicking fish, but was too excited to wait till Christmas to see him play with it. He was very ... underwhelmed 😏. However the dog thought it was for her and got very excited 😆

I think this is reserved, almost devout behaviour. Christmas admires your willpower! If they are ungiven gifts they are fair game!

I didn't home make any mince pies, or Christmas cake.
I haven't got round to writing any cards (due to suffering from Christmas procrastination).
I only bought and cracked open the Baileys today instead of all week.
I gave up and got my Dad socks for Christmas.

All in all a very sinful Christmas!

Greentomatoes21 · 23/12/2022 21:34

It's 23rd, it's Friday night, allll the Christmas items are open (as long as not needed for Christmas dinner!). I had Christmas cheese and crackers for lunch and just opening some Christmas chocolates. Oh and the Christmas crisps have had to be replaced, naturally.

daisydoods · 23/12/2022 21:34

I've just opened some of the Christmas crisps and I'm enjoying them in bed while watching rubbish tv

I made two dozen mince pies this morning and now there are only 12 left and I feel queasy.
I can't understand it 🤔

Mystery

Curlygirl06 · 23/12/2022 21:36

I was so annoyed about a neighbour on Tuesday I opened the Christmas biscuits. And the neighbour is still a twat!

Rainbow1901 · 23/12/2022 21:36

Oh what the heck!!

We cracked open the Christmas cheeses yesterday to have with fresh baked rolls - beautifully warm from the oven!!

The Baileys was a goner as soon as we hit Christmas Eve Eve!!

Evenstar · 23/12/2022 21:37

We are eating the salted caramel Lindors before the adult children get here tomorrow!

Starfish78 · 23/12/2022 21:38

I’ve drunk the 2 bottles of baileys I bought for Christmas
