Disappointing Christmas buffet

Lighthearted as realise this is a first world problem.

Work buffet lunch for Christmas recently. Paid for by staff, £10 a head. Around 30 people there. Couple of platters of supermarket sandwiches, some chicken skewers, samosas, bhajis - all cold. Couple of bags of crisps. Some cheese and crackers. All cheap supermarket stuff. Mini mince pies and a cupcake each. There were no sausage rolls!

AIBU to wonder where the rest of the £300 went? 🫣

I'd be pretty pissed. Who organised the food

Maybe not everyone paid

Who decided a buffet was a good idea when so many people have that weird cold?
Anyway, were there any drinks? Maybe the mince pies had gold hidden in them?

@tillytown worst part is this was an NHS thing… Organised by our boss, senior NHS colleague. There were tongs and hand sanitizer but I agree, not the wisest of ideas!

There were a couple of bottles of sparkling water and tea/coffee. It just felt a bit sad!

They probably pocketed the rest. Complain to HR and ask for receipt pa for food paid (assuming there’s no venue/entertainment cost).

Depends where they bought it from. Easy to burn through cash in some supermarkets at the moment

I looked at doing those sandwich platters for a buffet recently. You certainly don't get much for you'd money with them, so it wouldnt surprise me one bit.

I'm.a teacher. Simeine told me there were chocolates in our pigeon hole. A week.passed before I.remembered / was able to fetch them. Some cheeky get had nicked mine.😫it was three Celebrations chocolates but that still a piss take TAKING MINE😫
