Is anyone not ill today?

I got a chest infection after this horrible bug a couple of weeks ago. It’s never ending I have a day or two of feeling better and then something else hits me.

Every day for the past two weeks at least one of my team has called in sick.

All three kids have been up and down like yo yos. Both my sisters are struggling through colds. My dad has a chest infection. DH has been coughing through the night for weeks.

So…quick MN poll. Is anyone NOT ill right now?

I'm fine, haven't been ill since July when I had covid-like symptoms for 4-5 days but negative tests.

I felt better today, finally got rid of the awful toothache which I know isn’t actually toothache, it’s my sinuses.

Took the kids for a walk around a local garden centre that was so gentle I could have been encased by clouds. Came home and coughed non stop for 40 minutes. Culminating in damp undercrackers, vomit and a wheeze Dot Cotton would be proud of.

Adult DS started with a cold middle of last week. It has now developed into a cough. He says everyone in the office is ill - even the person who only visits one day a week so definitely hasn't caught it from them. I started with a cold 2 days ago so DH should have it just in time for Christmas!

I went to our Tesco Extra the other day to stock up on cold and flu capsules. The shelves were bare!

if you dont count my usual chronic health issues, i'm fine! no viruses/infections here!

I was feeling healthy and smug last Sunday night..to then be struck down with the awful cold that everyone has on Monday night :(
Christmas food shop/present wrapping/house cleaning plans are all currently on hold... Was really looking forward to this christmas as well.

I'm not ill! But only because I have spent over a month in virtual isolation caring for my poorly children who seem to have been hit by every bug out there.

We are in a situation where some days we can’t even tell if it’s the same viral illness or another new one. Constantly ill, with 2-3 days of feeling “normal”. Think our issue is we have 1 in primary, 1 in secondary and 1 in nursery. So all sorts of viruses being bought into our home. Worrying as I’m maxed out on compassionate leave for DC. Got to the point that I’m considering resigning if my work make a big deal of it again. My 10 year old currently has a fever of 40 which won’t budge even with combining calpol and nurofen. I’ve just got anntib for him, so hopefully that will help. My 2 year old sounds like she’s coming down with it too now.

My partner has covid but I'm negative and feeling as fit as a fiddle today 🤷‍♀️

We're both coughing fit to burst and are full of snot. My partner has had it for 10 days, me for 4, so I'm thrilled to think I might have at least another week of this shit.

AND my Dad died yesterday...

I’m sick and over 3 months pregnant. Absolutely shattered. I thought I was getting over my nausea but feel sooooo nauseous today. Don’t know if it’s the cold or the pregnancy? Anyhoo, feeling less and less bothered for Xmas now 😩

I'm not ill. Haven't caught any viruses this year and never had covid. I seem to be immune to coughs colds and flu but I'm sure I'll get a more serious illness at some point which is worse.

Im dreading getting ill as colleagues come down with covid this week
Been lots of colds / flu at work but this week a couple have actually tested and have covid and i have been sat next to them.
I think a lot are just treating anything as a cold and not testing but a couple did due ti elderly relatives
Bit annoyed that people came in with 'just a cold ' as now some of us may be ill all over xmas

We are all well for the first time since the summer hols - got sick mid-Sept, wasn't able to read to the kids without coughing my lungs up until half term end-Oct. Had about 2 weeks feeling ok and then got sick again second week of Nov to first week Dec. Kids got the Sept bug, DH got November's, I got both! Have put on a stone as well thanks to not being able to exercise for months thanks to my chest feeling like it had an iron band around it.

No one tested positive for covid, kids had flu jab at school and I was boosted for both covid and flu in October.

Pure luck we are well for Christmas - I think we just got all the bugs earlier than most.

I'm well. However the MIL is staying with us as FIL tested positive for covid last week and she's trying to avoid it. However she's caught DPs cold and has been in bed for 2 days. DP has man flu. And DD has just woke up and vomited everywhere.
So I'm not unwell currently, but everyone else in the house is unwell if that counts! 🙄

I'm actually not ill, by some miracle. Let's see how long it lasts. My toddler came down with a stomach bug a week ago, which turned into a cold. I caught a mild variant of the stomach bug (but I'm fine now), and my DP seems to have caught the cold. We've caught what seems to be every virus under the sun since he started nursery in August.

Plenty wrong with me long-term, but I haven't caught anything infectious this season...yet. Don't much like the sound of this awful lurgy that's doing the rounds.
