3 days until the big man is here - worst gifts?!

I thought I would start a 2022 thread about this as I was going through my "unwanted" present drawer.. that sounds mean but any gifts I recieve, go into that drawers and I regift them to others (within reason) but I had forgotten how funny some of this stuff is!!

1. camouflage condoms (from MIL to DH.. these will NOT be regifted, not sure why they arent in the bin...)
2. A yellow scarf with golden giraffee on it (gifted to me from someone in DH family.. I mentioned I liked giraffees one year)
3. A bottle opener - it is a naked man and the bottle open is where his.. aherm.. would be (a gift from my friend to me, she said she saw it and thought of me... erm okay)
4. an old a4 cat / kitties calendar (this should really be in the bin now too.. not sure why I ever recieved it, I dont like cats).
5. a set of candles... nice gift you say? well they are lemon sherbet, coca cola, vimto scented - I'm not a teenager, fs
6. my FAVOURITE - a tshirt, quite a big one at that - that is bright pink with a huge campervan on it that says "dont worry, be happy" - oh yes, I wrongly said I liked campervans at one point
7. Last but not least a PJ set with "papa elf" on it in a mens size XXXL - from mil to me... she apparently didnt know what size I was?! erm, I am a 10, a womens size 10 at that...
8. a bottle of echo falls that my friend always buys me.. I think echo falls is sh*t, so I will regift to someone this year

So.. what rubbish / tat have you ever recieved

Ps, I am not ungrateful but spend weeks, hours, forever searching for the perfect gift for someone so sometimes I am a bit miffed or taken back by some rubbish I have received. I think the Echo falls is a joke now... I have told that friend, in passing convo, that I dislike wines like Echo falls...

Think of all the energy that has gone into creating all this stuff that you don't want. You know, when you bang on about climate change and agree that 3,000 Dutch farms should be shut down. Just think about it.

Relatives of mine once bought me carrier bag handles (like plastic things to stop carrier bags digging into your fingers)... I was 13 at the time and had no use for them at all! 😂
They also once got me a pineapple for my birthday, no idea why!

Love them to bits, but their present buying isn't great...

Laughing at "blow up boyfriend with a puncture"!

A brown knitted poncho from SIL and BIL took me all day to realise it wasnt a rug.
A green hat and scarf set from the pound shop from my ex MIL. She said I didnt need gifts as I had her son 😂we were divorced 6 months later ! Didnt regift either as I didnt hate anyone that much !

Ex BF bought me lavender potpourri ....

Some of these gifts I would happily have. I have beat you all this year, I have bought DP an iron…because I broke his..and a box of biros because it drives me mad that he had no pens in his house. In my defence, I spent hours searching for a nice gift and then he put us on a miserly budget so that was that.

DH bought me an iron once to be "funny". The annoying thing was it was his iron that had broken, not mine... (yes we have our own irons.)

Not bad gifts but I end up with so many body washes / shower gels that I can never use them all quick enough so I end up with a cupboard full that never empties year after year!

A second hand dirty naked barbie with knotted hair. Think I was 12? I had not asked for it.

@KohlaParasaurus If you ever did want to dispose of the stamp collection then eBay is worth a look.

I've never sold stamps on there but know someone who has bought "ordinary" collections from eBay.

XH onc gave me 'luxury' washing up gloves, hand cream, and a book. He then told me that he didn't know if the book would be any good because he'd chosen it in a charity shop based on the fact that it looked brand new. He was in a rush because he'd left his shopping until the last minute.

Probably the worst part of it is that he told me he got the washing up gloves and hand cream from a little independent shop on our local high street, which means he passed over the bags, scarves, jewellery, gifty things for washing up gloves and hand cream.

Hamper full of meat, I have been a vegetarian for 40 years.

And as for gift giving......I work 6 days a week in the NHS. I do overtime to pay the higher bills and I'm saving up for a new boiler so I don't have anything in the way of time or money.
Close relatives insist on a surprise every year which means endless trawling round the shops in time I don't have and huge expense, they are very well off. I am just getting by and am having a hard time with rheumatoid arthritis. They don't need gifts, I long for the day they just say oh just send a card. They can buy anything they want any time of the year.

I once was gifted the little free bag and hand lotion that you sometimes get with a perfume from Avon...
just the gift bag and lotion....
