To rant about Evri delivery??

Posting for traffic in case anyone can help, as I feel like I’m out of options.

I placed an order with John Lewis at the weekend for a few things to be delivered to a friend for their birthday tomorrow.

Evri will be delivering the items, and on Monday, I got an email saying the items are delayed and they’ll let me know when they can complete the delivery. It’s now late Wednesday afternoon, and I’ve had no further updates at all. I’ve tried to contact Evri to ask for updates, but haven’t had any contact details or means to contact them anywhere. I’ve also contacted John Lewis to see if they can help, and they said unfortunately they can’t as it’s Evri’s issue to sort out.

Can anyone advise on what I can do? It’s obviously not a massive issue in the grand scheme of things, but would be nice if my friend could get their parcel tomorrow/if I could get an update. I know December is always a crazy month for deliveries and the post, but I ordered the items on Sunday to try and factor in these sorts of delays.

As far as I know your contract is with John Lewis just as theirs is with Evri so it absolutely is up to them to chase it up. You're being fobbed off here. I believe JL is well known for this.

I sent an item via the GSP at eBay.

ebay lost it and tried to take the funds from me.

Its a completely different situation but my point is large companies no longer have decent customer service.

it took me 40 minutes on the phone to get my issue transferred back to the U.K. where I got my money back. My contract was with eBay. I delivered the item to them.

your contract is with John Lewis not Evrie. They either need to locate the item or send another.

Be firm and assertive while insisting on speaking to a manager

The contract is with John Lewis, it’s up to them to ensure you receive the items that you bought from them safely.

They’re fobbing you off, it’s not your fault that they used a shitty delivery company.

Get back on to them.

Evri told me the same thing and then I found one of the gifts in my recycling bin. No update. No note through the door. No one even knocked.

John Lewis are very good at fobbing you off when your contract is with them. If you paid for next working day delivery then call again and ask for a refund of your delivery cost. If you haven’t paid for next day delivery then I am not sure you have anything to complain about as standard delivery is 3-5 working days.

Yes, it is JL’s problem to resolve. I have had this twice recently with George/Asda. Both times I had an email from Evri saying my parcel had been delayed. No updates for days. I called George and then re-sent the item to me with free postage.

Did your parcel actually get to Evri/leave the warehouse?

I've been waiting on a parcel from Next who are using Evri as their courier but whenever I check the next website it hasn't even left the warehouse! Ive already had to reorder the item as it was deemed "lost" and now that the replacement has been delayed twice I'm not holding my breath that I'm ever getting it. Next have already taken money out of my account too! It was a Christmas present for my DH as well.

Hi OP, I had a similar problem with Evri; they tried to deliver a parcel but we were out, responded to their failed delivery email to request another delivery, also asked our local Evri courier about it but 10 days later received an email from Evri to say that the parcel had been lost. Really frustrating.

I had this the other day, it said there was a problem with delivery and they would give me a delivery time the next working day but it stayed stuck like that for 2 days instead. On the app there's an option to re route to a parcel shop so I selected my closest one and it was dropped off there the next day.

Evri ASOS delivery next day arrived, my royal mail 24 hour tracked arrived 7 days late but an empty box (chanel no 5) do we not talk about that, is that okay?

Champs I have a 24 hrs tracked delivery, it has been sitting in a delivery office for 8 days apparently going nowhere! I've given up hope of it arriving for my dc's now Were lucky they have other presents though! On the other hand our Evri driver is lovely, always on time and the last one would call me and arrange to come back when I wad home. Can't fault them. I think it all depends where you are to be honest

My evri parcel was delayed and then no further updates. It was smyths toys and they sent out another when it hadn't arrived a couple of days later. Anyway about 19th us later evri delivered the one that was missing! It may show up eventually 🤷🏻‍♀️

Awaiting and everi asos order here. Has been with their driver since 10 am . Due by 4 then by 830pm. At 9pm got a message saying it had been delayed till tomorrow trimed at 805pm. I paid for next day delivery and.its.the same.driver who mysteriously lost my husband's M&S order and.only seems to deliver between7&8pm . Will be asking for a delivery refund tomorrow.

im waiting for 2 parcels from different places which were saying our for delivery and now say they’ve been delivered which they haven’t! So hard to actually speak to someone at evri

I've got an order from Hush that's been at the Evri depot since Friday. It's annoying. The companies must be finding it frustrating as they'll be losing sales.

We are finding that a small proportion of evri parcels are having significant delays (three weeks or so) but most are getting through in reasonable time frame. The ones that are delayed do eventually seem to arrive - usually just after I've issued a refund to the customer!
