Why did you move cities/country's?

Posting mainly for traffic and wasn't sure where this post should go.

I am very much considering moving to a quieter part of the uk as I move the countryside but somewhere not too far from the huddle and bustle of city life, but this is yet to be decided.

I just wanted to know why and what made you move countries or counties?

Moved countries several times, all on my own, for studies and/or work. In current country for almost 3 years now (the longest I’ve stayed in the same place for a while) and I’m not ruling out another move soon. I think it helps that there are only about 10 vacancies for my job in the world every year, so you have to move a lot unless you change careers.

Moved overseas for work.
Moved back (after nearly 5 years) mainly to be close to our families again, and to get the DC settled in a new school while they are still quite young. We felt the longer we left it the harder it would be to make the move.

Moved for work and DH (French). I love living here, I don't think we'll move away, although we'd consider a different area of France. I always thought we'd move to the UK at some point, but we have reconsidered since Brexit because of fewer work opportunities. If DH wasn't around, I might move back. It feels like home here in large part because of him. But I'm not sure the UK would feel like home either!
