Cheese

I ordered some cheese (not soft and all coated in wax).

Due to a mix of poor customer service from the cheese place and mail delays - they've been in transit for some time (obviously not in a fridge). I've tried to Google answers but am getting a completely mixed response.

They've arrived today. I've now put them in the fridge. Will they still be ok come Christmas day as they've been out of a cool / fridge for some time? They've cost a fair amount and I'm some what reluctant to contact the company again as it was a massive battle before. Their social media is absolutely littered with complaints about their customer service (not products). Especially if they will be absolutely fine.

YABU - No way will they be ok. Bin them / contact the company.

YANBU - They are all sealed in wax and will be absolutely fine to consume with no runny bottoms as a result.

Following for eerily similar reasons. I don't have an answer, sorry.

dont worry, the wax preserves the cheese it’s designed to protect it

Thanks to those who've voted - that's put my mind at ease.

@RunnerBum Sorry to hear you've had similar issues. Have yours arrived yet?

@TwoMonthsOff It isn't but it's a company that does very similar products.

You'll be fine, the cheese gets covered in wax so it can survive three days on the back of a hore-drawn wagon to a marker town to sell, we had cheese before we had refrigerated just-in-time logistics lorries 😉 bon appetit 🤤

Most “transit” flung in the corner of a warehouse has been colder than a fridge the last few days anyway. Enjoy your cheese.

Whataretheodds · 19/12/2022 09:00

It'll be fine
