I’m about to start training with a new coach (im a dressage rider). They will come out and watch my riding for a few sessions and then we’ll decide on a plan and what we are going to do going forward. I just feel so anxious about it- I never ride well under pressure and I’m terrified of messing up. The coach is an amazing rider and teacher, and I know people have trained with her and said she’s brilliant and isn’t mean, but she expects a lot of you and can be strict. She will be assessing my riding and helping me be a better rider which is what I want, but I want to make a good impression but I feel so anxious incase I mess up and/or do badly. I’ve been riding since I was 3 years old and I’ve had lots of different training styles in the past- some were soft and others are downright nasty. I know this coach isn’t like that, but I feel so anxious about trying to make a good impression and I can’t stop worrying about it.
Does anyone have any advice? Thank you 😢
