I feel like a dinosaur right now but I just do not understand iCloud. I pay £2.50 a month -£30 a year not a tiny amount. iCloud online says I have used 50% of storage.

yet my phone is full?? If I delete a photo from my phone it deletes on iCloud too.

what’s the point in the iCloud storage if my phone fills up and I can’t just keep the photos on the cloud? Thinking of cancelling iCloud and using drive instead??

You can upload the photos to iCloud and delete from device only. I suggest you find a video on you tube or arrange an appointment in the apple shop. They do tech classes to teach about these things.
