Would this put you off completely?

Hi everyone

Just wondering if this would put you off if you were in this situation.

I have been messaging a guy for a little while. We went to the same school, he’s two years older. Both in mid twenties and I haven’t seen him since school.

He was asking to take me on a date but we haven’t arranged anything yet.

However, tonight he has been at a friends house which is not too far from mine and he’s been messaging loads telling me he wants to come over to my house now, saying ‘nothing has to happen, I just want to see you’ and he keeps leaving voice messages slurring his words. Would this put you off the first date?

It's not a crime to get drunk and flattering that he's thinking of you when he's out with his mates. I wouldn't block for that.

But it does sound as if he just wants to get his end away tonight, so no, I would be ignoring him until he is sober again. It would be a regrettable first date.

Why not push him on a proper first date this week or next, then you can make an informed decision whether this liaison might have future in it?

Did you hear from him today, OP??

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 18/12/2022 21:25

Gross. Block and move on.

Btw what makes him the decider of whether "nothing has to happen" or not? Shows you how his mind works.

It wouldn't put me off a first date. I wouldn't let him.come over though. Wait and see what tomorrow brings.

He's drunk.
Ignore him and see if he apologizes in the morning.

Why wait and see? She knows everything about him now.

determinedtomakethiswork · 19/12/2022 02:08

"Nothing has to happen " means he wants it to happen and he thinks you will cave in.

He clearly really likes you as he's thinking about you with his mates when drunk so that's a plus I guess BUT I'd only see him if apologises in the morning.

No, he clearly wants sex with someone and hopes she has no boundaries.

@determinedtomakethiswork No, he clearly wants sex with someone and hopes she has no boundaries.

^That about sums it up.

If I had tuppence for all the guys who said to me "Let's go back to your place, I won't try anything" I'd be a rich women. 🙄

Yuck. Yes, that would be repulsive to me. Desperate isn’t a good look
