To fix my own shoes?

Very petty argument...but DH is being weird, right?

Out at a friend's house and the heel of my relatively expensive (~£100) shoe fell off, but still walkable. DH started insisting he needed superglue and he had to glue it on immediately. Wouldn't let me leave without doing it. I think glue will ruin them and said I'll wear them to the car broken and take them to the cobblers. DH kept on at me to glue them, and I just wanted to go so I reluctantly agreed. Luckily friend didn't have glue, so I wore a bag over it.

Within seconds of getting home DH asked for my shoe to glue it. I said no again, he insisted and I lost my rag and raised my voice. Now he's still going on about it, and telling me how terribly I speak to him. I'm upstairs settling the baby and he's still texting me about glueing the fucking shoes Hmm.

I'm not sure I care enough to continue arguing with him, but surely AINBU to not want my shoe superglued together?

I don’t know why your husband is bothered about it to this extent, but I also don’t know why you don’t want your shoe heel superglued back on.

I don't understand his motivation other than stubborness.

Despite falllng apart, they're a good pair of shoes, I want them fixed professionally and not a bodge fix.

I'd superglue mine, but they are your shoes, so if you want to get them glued by a cobbler, do that instead.

You can get decent shoe fix glue but sounds like he was fixed on super glue. It sounds like he cares but is getting it wrong.

I'd be happy to fix the shoe myself (and have in the past), but not with superglue! You need specialist glue.

Like others, I'm not sure why he is so invested in it, but equally, I'm not sure why you wouldn't fix them yourself.
Seems an odd thing to wait to then take to someone else to do when it is such an easy DIY fix.
