To secretly think the posters who are men on MN must be big jessies?

I know I'll get pelters for this, but I do wonder about the male posters who are on here regularly,( I don't mean guys who post very seldom)

it's just that MN reminds me of chatting to other mums at the school gates and most guys I know would rather run a mile than stand with a group of mum's chewing the fat ( and guys who do love chatting to a group of women - )

dh uses chat rooms to discuss football and that's about it

will have to hide now.

Yes, you are being totally unreasonable. And sexist. Men are people too. Well rounded people. With a variety of needs. How many women seem to think that a man should only think about sex and football?

Well newsflash. Men have feelings. Men get lonely. Men feel scared. Men feel overwhelmed. Men like to connect with other human beings.

I am fucking pig sick of the bloody sexism, and downright spitefulness directed at the blokes who come on here.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 05/08/2009 08:28

oh feck, it's an old one.

and I got all outraged at this time in the morning for an old thread!

HecatesTwopenceworth · 05/08/2009 08:29

littlemisstuffet - that line has been used a million times on here! If you are going to pull up every poster who uses it you are going to be a busy little thing!

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 08:45

I think we should have a roll-call anyway!

I do in my moments of paranoia secretly wonder if the men are on here trying to find out who the single mums are and take advantage..then I wonder if it's the other way around...

mumcentre - it is def the other way round! Have you seen how poor blokes get leapt upon on here?!!

I think a roll-call would be a bad idea! I wouldn't like to see someone getting a hard time just because of their gender - and there are a few posters on here who are so anti men that they would have a go, no matter what was posted!

"I'm happy"
"well, of course you're happy, you're a MAN and have all the control and power and are happy oppressing women"

"I'm unhappy"
"how DARE you claim to be unhappy. You are a man, you have all the power and control. You try being a woman and THEN you'll know what it's like to be made to feel bad"

Longtalljosie · 05/08/2009 09:02

I'm still giggling to myself over the expression (earlier in thread) "quiche-botherer"

It's reminding me of American Pie for some reason.

Poor quiche...

frasersmummy · 05/08/2009 09:05

I often find if there is a huge bun fight going on that us ladies (yes me too) can be (ahem) emotional and take things personally

I usually find those who are posting openly as men keep their posts factual, non emotional and non personal

I dont think of them as jesses ..

Gateau · 05/08/2009 09:08

I wouldn;t call them big jessies, but I do think it's a bit odd.
That said, they make some valuable contributions, so if they want to come on here the so be it, I guess.

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 09:13

Nuff said Hectate ..I'm just nosy is all

daftpunk · 05/08/2009 09:16

hecate....if it was as bad as you say...they wouldn't be here..

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 09:20

Oh they would be here daft..lol

daftpunk · 05/08/2009 09:23

ha ha.....i know this is ages old...but it's interesting to see an anti-men thread started by someone who isn't me..

I quite like the expression..I may use it when required in future posts

ABetaDad · 05/08/2009 09:52

Wow! A thread that has been recycled from before I even existed on MN.

Its like time travel!

I would like to chat to Mums at the school gate by the way. However, as the OP said - it is not that easy to do it in RL.

tbh i would never talk with the mums at the school gates...they're all a bit weird!

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 10:19

Your's are weird too harley?..thought I was the only one!..mine are uber weird very cliquey and ever so slightly irritating

EachPeachPearMum · 05/08/2009 10:41

mumcentreplus- your name always makes me smile.... it makes me think of something out of star trek... like a big part of a space ship for nurturing children

TrillianAstra · 05/08/2009 10:43

BetaDad - I thought you ran away from the mums at the school gate because they tried to invite your DSs on playdates?

Pan · 05/08/2009 10:43

school gate mums? Are they different to the other mums I talk to? ( said in uber-jessie style..)

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 10:44

I like the concept Eachy

Mumcentreplus · 05/08/2009 10:48

well the mum's at Breakfast Club are normal and quite friendly..so maybe they are a different breed..or perhaps it's a location thing..

ABetaDad · 05/08/2009 13:54

TrillianAstra - I am a reformed character since I got roasted reducated about playdates on MN.
