To secretly think the posters who are men on MN must be big jessies?

I know I'll get pelters for this, but I do wonder about the male posters who are on here regularly,( I don't mean guys who post very seldom)

it's just that MN reminds me of chatting to other mums at the school gates and most guys I know would rather run a mile than stand with a group of mum's chewing the fat ( and guys who do love chatting to a group of women - )

dh uses chat rooms to discuss football and that's about it

will have to hide now.

I like Unquiet Dad, he has an interesting and very male perspective.
anyway I am probably not the best person to ask. I hang around with gay boys and metrosexual and quiche botherers all the time anyway.
I find traditional football mad beer swilling men crashingly dull and fearsomely unattractive.

YABU!

DH would never come on here, but he does the school-run more than I do, and is happy chatting to the other parents.

So he must be according to your logic.

Guess what? He can do that AND enjoy the football too! double

For the record I don't consider myself to be a fishwife either, but then again....

TheHonEnid · 02/02/2008 12:14

it takes all sorts but I must say i do not know ANY men in RL who would use mumsnet and would find it odd if I did

but I am quite old and probably slighlty reactionary

ZippiBabes · 02/02/2008 12:15

so that's men who would use mumsnet and who would find it odd that you did

enid

I would find them odd I meant

ZippiBabes · 02/02/2008 12:20

most of the guys i dont find particularly idnetifiable through their posting style as men well there might be one

Moorhen · 02/02/2008 14:48

If my very-DH didn't want to talk to the sort of women who use Mumsnet, he wouldn't want to talk to me, now would he?

And in that case he wouldn't be my DH.

Football all very well in its place, but being the only one in the house interested in childcare etc would give me the screaming heebie-jeebies. I do not want to live in the Fifties. Sheesh.

YABVVVU. MY Dh is very much a manly man and he sometimes posts on here!
As Lulumama said, it is for parents by parents
Do you also think I shouldn't post here coz I do!!
Perhaps, ssd this is more your cup of tea...

grin

Bouncingturtle · 02/02/2008 15:11

ssd · 02/02/2008 19:39

agree some of the dad's are interesting on here, but like Enid I can't imagine any guys I know in RL wanting to post here
