To secretly think the posters who are men on MN must be big jessies?

I know I'll get pelters for this, but I do wonder about the male posters who are on here regularly,( I don't mean guys who post very seldom)

it's just that MN reminds me of chatting to other mums at the school gates and most guys I know would rather run a mile than stand with a group of mum's chewing the fat ( and guys who do love chatting to a group of women - )

dh uses chat rooms to discuss football and that's about it

will have to hide now.

If you see this as a place for women to chat then you're missing the whole point of the website.

It is a place for parents to chat.

mumeeee · 03/02/2008 18:06

YABU

2shoes · 03/02/2008 18:18

yabvu and as Harleyd said very weird.

JuJusDad · 04/08/2009 23:05

Aw, poor old ssd. Such a narrow, shallow existance and frame of reference. So nice to have such a compartmentalised view of life.

Must make things very easy for you. Well done.

Oh, but thanks for letting me be able to (mis)quote Richard Dawkins: "The great thing about an opinion like this is, we can ignore it completely"

Off you fuck, there's a poppet.

harleyd · 04/08/2009 23:08

JuJusDad · 04/08/2009 23:09

Mumcentreplus · 04/08/2009 23:33

Mumcentreplus · 04/08/2009 23:36

FGS!

EyeballsintheSky · 04/08/2009 23:59

I was getting all annoyed then . Now I'll have to prod DH in annoyance instead.

And as we could all be hairy arsed truckers behind these screens who the hell cares what gender anyone is on here?

There, I said my piece anyway

EyeballsintheSky · 05/08/2009 00:00

Aww, DD was three weeks old when this thread was started. No wonder I don't remember it...

MIFLAW · 05/08/2009 00:18

No, you're right.

We are all big nancy boys.

We probably all want to kiss and cuddle each other too.

It's because we don't like football or Formula 1 and wear pink shirts.

Who's for a bumming, lads?

MIFLAW · 05/08/2009 00:20

Just noticed date of original.

Silly me. What a waste of perfectly good sarcasm.

Probably because I'm not a real man and therefore no good with macho things like computers ...

LittleMissTuffet · 05/08/2009 04:08

I know this thread is old but JuJusDad please don't come out with offensive comments like "Off you fuck, there's a poppet". I love men on MN buts that's just vile.

Blackduck · 05/08/2009 07:15

see thats the great thing about the internet and names - MIFLAW I never realised (not that it matters one iota) that you were/are? a man....

EachPeachPearMum · 05/08/2009 07:33

hmm.... so this thread is 18 mo? I hadn't realised ssd had been here that long!

Doodle2u · 05/08/2009 07:46

LittleMissTuffet - that's a standard MN line and has been used on here a thousand times by men and women.

piscesmoon · 05/08/2009 07:52

I think this attitude is a shame-and then people bemoan the fact that men don't work in nurseries and infant schools -hardly surprising!

quidnunc · 05/08/2009 08:16

No, no. OP is obviously bang on .

I hardly ever post, but I am a bloke (some time served in forces, plays some rugby, shit hot at DIY, best wedding present was compound circular mitre saw...) and happen to want to engage in my children's development and welfare, plus I value the opinions given by many mums on MN. Why does that make me a jesse?

Tell you what, lets swap lives for a month and THEN you come back and tell MN how much of a jesse I am.

quidnunc · 05/08/2009 08:18

Unless not noticing the date makes one a jesse??

shavenhaven · 05/08/2009 08:24

i think the "Off you fuck, there's a poppet" line is offensive when it is directed to a poster, is not that bad if it is used to a third party when talking about a news article etc.

just another example of someone being a "keyboard gangster", i bet you would not use that line to someone in real life but everyone is brave sitting behind a computer screen.
