I agree. Also it sounds like a totally daft game. Scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Can't imagine it's going to sell and become the next 'Monopoly'.

VladmirsPoutine · 15/12/2022 19:21

It looks like a terrible game tbh. I hate what they did to 'Karen'. Same thing that happened to the word 'woke'.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 15/12/2022 19:22

That's awful. I suppose complaining to them would achieve nothing Sad Annoying because I shop there often.

EmmaDilemma5 · 15/12/2022 19:24

Isn't it similar to victor mildrew though?

I don't find it misogynistic. I find cringy though (hate the term Karen) and it doesn't sound particularly fun.

Notimeforaname · 15/12/2022 19:26

Its just a game to me.

Bigbadfish · 15/12/2022 19:33

Apparently it's been powered 23 times in the last 24 hours.....at that price?!

Wdib78 · 15/12/2022 19:36

I doubt it'll catch on.
I have 2 friends called Karen and neither of them are "Karens", they're both lovely 😍

Lovageandrose · 15/12/2022 19:43

It a game based on all those women that were filmed being racist. It’s laughable to suggest it’s misogynistic but there is an argument to say it’s minimising racism.

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 19:48

Please complain so it goes half price

If you read the description, it's nothing to do with racism.
In Karen, each player is going to sneak their own fake complaints in amongst hilarious REAL one star reviews found online, to try and convince their opponents that THEY are the real Karen.

It's the misogynistic and often ageist trope of women complaining about nothing.

It doesn't seem to have been proofread ("full of Karen's") or localised (airplanes, government cheese). Looks like a lazy attempt to cash in on a meme a good couple of years too late.

Maybe that's on purpose. I thought it's to add oil

ErrolTheDragon · 15/12/2022 19:59

If you educate yourself on the Karen meme you will understand what it’s about

I have, thank you. Both on the American original meme, which as you say is about racism. And the British one which isn't. Perhaps you need to continue your educational a little? This game is clearly nothing to do with the former.

Pothoswithasparkle · 15/12/2022 19:59

Then again. Saw gov.uk page with are instead of our and so on🙈 so might be real mistake there

You do understand that not all of those women were called Karen?

And that other people, who weren't being racist, are also called Karen?

Octo5 · 15/12/2022 20:04

What an utterly shit looking game.

Although the restaurants went down very well, which I was surprised at.

I thought this Karen fad was over now anyway.

VladmirsPoutine · 15/12/2022 20:15

These threads always go the same way. Karen is a wonderful shorthand word.
