To think life is just so much nicer with a bit of money

I’m not talking loads necessarily but just not constantly watching what you spend.
We’ve had times where we’ve had to watch every penny (currently sort of like this but grateful to have nice Christmas dinner & presents for Dd) and times in the past where we could go for mini breaks at Christmas or nice meals out and activities, maybe treat each other, not huge things. Life is just so much more enjoyable with a bit of money and really quite crap without, isn’t it

It's interesting that a great deal of wealthy people grew up in poverty . Being poor was their motivation to get a better life . One of their biggest fears is being poor again . Money gives you choices time and control over your life . Money solves problems and makes life run smoothly.

Absolutely agree with the OP.

Having money definite makes you happier. DH and I have tripled our salaries in 7 years and one of the things we’ve been able to buy is solar panels. Between April to September we paid £108 in electricity and, whilst we’re paying more now, not only is it a whole lot lower than a lot of people, those 5 months really balance out the whole year. Without our payrise we just couldn’t have done that.

Money definitely bought me my happiness, it's positively impacted my physical and mental health and I honestly don't think I'd still be here if I hadn't come into a more fortunate financial situation.

Very true. And one of those choices is whether to stay in a relationship. I know that I earn enough to have a very comfortable life without DH. So I know I am with him out of love and choice, not because I can't afford to leave.

I also disagree with the money doesn't make you happy nonsense. Of course it does! It makes for a much easier life not having to watch every penny. It's like when people get an inheritance and then say yes but we lost a loved one to get it. Better then losing a loved one and getting nothing !

Better to make your own way in the world and fo well yourself rather than rely on a relative dying.

Do you not think if it was that easy, everyone would do it

Whatifitallgoesright · 18/12/2022 02:03

What do you mean; "relying,....on a relative to die? That's not what is being said at all

Yes, that's what most of us do.
