House cleaner - Do I mention this

Hello.

I recently decided to get a cleaner as I struggle to find the time and I'm incredibly OCD. I mean, when I clean I clean every single inch of the home, leave all the chrome taps, sink, everything chrome spotless. Anyway, decided to have a cleaner and she's left water stains all over the chrome taps and in the sink and hasn't cleaned the plug hole. Do I mention this or not get her back again?

Have you told your cleaner you have OCD? There's no shame in it.
It would be a good opportunity to have a discussion about the standard you want.

I'm a cleaner, I unscrew the plugs to clean underneath, And I've OCD. My clients never complain!

You’re paying her to do a job. It doesn’t really matter what is expected or how other people want their houses cleaned. Just tell her exactly what you want and expect and if she can’t do it in the time or doesn’t want to do it then you aren’t a good match. Don’t waste any time fretting over what you can or can’t ask of her, just get on an tell her, she isn’t going to be able to read your mind.

Thank you for the response Sleepeazie. Is it quite normal to not police the chrome as a cleaner. Majority on here think I'm hard work for expecting it?!

I think most have agreed the taps should have been polished, it's the plug that many disagree with.

I think you're expecting too much in 3 hours. A full clean to OTT exacting standards plus a post-building work clean in the conservatory? It's a tall order!

I agree with PPs that given your OCD, you are unlikely to ever be happy with any cleaner you get. If you are insistent on having one, I think you need to be really honest about your OCD and write a very detailed list of what you want cleaned, keeping it to just a few rooms (unless you are going to massively up the hours you're contracting them for). It sounds like a few rooms done to perfection would be better for you that a general whole-house clean that you're nitpicking over.
