To have a yay me moment

paulhollywoodshairgel · 13/12/2022 12:34

My mental health is horrible at the moment. Really struggling.

But, today I managed to wrap all the kids gifts, pack parcels to be sent and have a shower.

I'm having a yay me moment.. anyone else need one?

I love this OP! I can totally relate to how difficult these things can be when you're struggling.

My yay me moment is that I was teetering on the edge of an eating disorder relapse but ate my porridge for breakfast this morning and bought some bread for lunch which I'll eat soon.

Ah it’s such a great feeling!

I’ve sorted out our insurance renewals, chased two refunds and booked a drs appt this morning. Now I don’t have any more phone calls to dread making and I feel freeeee.

Sometimes the smallest things are the biggest things. Nice one

OP, well done you Flowers

I am in the middle of a horrible divorce which has just become very contentious as ex has discovered (by reading my messages) I'd like to start dating again so has completely discarded the agreement we'd reached, meaning that the last 5 months of negotiation, playing nice and settling for less were worth nothing. But today I have completed my CV to apply for a better job to support my children and I, and went for a decent run despite the icy weather. Yay me.

Well done! 🌺 So sorry you’re finding it tough with your mental health atm. When I’ve had tricky days with my mental health, I often find I feel better after I’ve had a shower, and it can then help you feel like you want to do more things after, and then a bit more, then a bit more etc etc until you’ve done lots of things that seemed impossible at the start of the day. Nice one OP.
