@MarieIVanArkleStinks That may be how the aristocracy operate. It is not how ordinary people operate. They just feel sorry for Kate. It begins to look like Charles and Diana.

diddl · 14/12/2022 16:12

Doesn't that post holder always change with the death of the monarch?

yes-as was reported at the time.

Yes. It does. It goes from one aristocratic family to another. Anyone in the job knows it’s not a job for their lifetime.

EdgeOfACoin · 14/12/2022 16:17

Noone has provided a shred of evidence for any of this.

Where are the credible sources from outside of England and Wales (thus not bound by the alleged superinjunction) reporting on the scandal? Because right now there is some stupid gossip on Twitter and that's it.

The Ryan Giggs stuff was easy to find. This should be a doddle. I imagine the US media would be all over it.

Bluekerfuffle · 13/12/2022 00:01

Oh please, the press will talk about anything if there is actual proof of it happening. There have been some pretty sordid stories over the years about the royals.

I meant H and M in the Netflix doc.

Bluekerfuffle · 14/12/2022 16:21

@Janieread , oh, sorry, although who knows what those two will talk about. They probably wouldn’t as they seem to prefer making vague accusations that can be interpreted as anything.

Bluekerfuffle · 14/12/2022 16:24

diddl · 14/12/2022 16:07

If William never has affairs, he'll likely be the first man ever in his position who hasn't.

I think it has been accepted due to arranged marriages.

I don’t think Kate was part of an arranged marriage. They would have chosen an aristocrat for that. William and Kate have always appeared very happy together and they were not rushed into it. It’s nothing like Charles and Diana who never looked that happy together.

CrownTheTurkey · 14/12/2022 16:28

Harry and Meghan couldn't lie straight in bed!
Who cares if Kate has had hair extensions and Botox?
Or if William has affairs, or takes it up the arse?
Kate could be shagging the gardener in the greenhouse, while William swings from the bedroom chandelier with his valet and no one would care.
Harry and his missus remind me of two kids in the playground who skip round shouting ' I've got a secret '
And the daft public sit salivating for more.

I think M is going for the wholesome brand and kids like her, so I can't see pegging - even someone else doing it - being part of the marketing.

Canthave2manycats · 14/12/2022 17:04

I like evidence before I reach an opinion. William and Kate married for love, not duty, and they appear to be happy together. Not convinced that, having his experience of divorced, warring parents, he would want to run the risk of putting his own children through that.

The lies H&M have told at this point has lost them any credibility. M is manipulative, and H is stupid and easily led. This expose was a long time in the planning. M never had any intention of fitting in.

diddl · 14/12/2022 17:20

I don’t think Kate was part of an arranged marriage.

That was what I meant.

Sorry, didn't explain well.

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley has lost his job as Lord Great Chamberlain.

Covenient for William eh? Daddy to the rescue so they never have to meet again and bury his affair with the guy's wife even deeperbut we all know William had an affair with Rose Hanbury - Chumley's wife

explains here about the role

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Great_Chamberlain

I went to Grimsthorpe Castle recently home of the Carrington family.
I think with William LC goes back to the Cholmondeley (?) family

MissMarpleRocks · 14/12/2022 17:23

Sorry pressed to soon

the guide explained to us how it all worked.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 14/12/2022 17:52

M never had any intention of fitting in.

This is certainly the perspective in the book Courtiers.

MarshaMelrose · 14/12/2022 18:13

I mean I've read the rumours that Meghan was a yacht girl. I've always considered that is a ridiculous and actually quite scurrilous slur so I've never repeated it. But maybe I'm old-fashioned so if we're just repeating twitter nonsense as truth, hey, Meghan was a yacht girl. Fact. 🙄

Really? There are people being paid to post here? Is that what’s called a BOT.

A bot is a computer programme that leaves comments. It works where a short punchy comment is needed but little interaction.

If you look at one of the trailers for Harry and Meghan posted on YouTube, the comments underneath all start ‘I love how ….’ then there is a short derogatory comment. That looks like a badly programmed bot (no attempt made to mix up the phrasing). For the avoidance of all doubt, if the RF wanted to use bots, I have no doubt they could afford a top of the line version so I don’t think they had anything to do with the comments being posted.

People posting on this thread are interacting so they aren’t bots. However, I supposed they (we) could be paid PR people. It’s rumoured that some PR agencies do go onto threads on social media to tilt them in the direction they want. If there is someone on here who has suddenly appeared on Mumsnet and posts only for or against M & H (and isn’t also posting on multiple threads unconnected to the RF), maybe they are paid to be here but there is no one on the thread that I’ve read their post and immediately thought they are a ringer (of course, maybe that’s what they want me to think).

If you read the YouTube comments which all start with “ I love the part where”, it’s a joke not a bot.

Fair enough but the rest of my post stands and even if the posts aren’t from a bot, I still think they are a good example of what bot postings tend to look like.

😂😂😂 They were actually quite complex responses ... some really quite clever. All different and unique. The phrasing was the point of the postings...as was the one tear from the left eye endings.

That must be their truth 😹, can't believe some people are so blinded by stanism they can't see the irony in posts.

It's no big deal even if he did have an affair but I expect Markle wants Catherine humiliated ( in her dreams) so if it is this, shame on them.
