Just that !
In the trailers for the next Harry / Meghan Netflix , Harry talks about how Courtiers lied to protect William .
Hmmmm - what could he gave done that needed lies told to us ?

OP posts:

I did think KP commenting on whether Kate had Botox / hair extensions was ridiculous.
But if that was the reason, I guess it makes sense.

MrsThimbles · 13/12/2022 19:54

I have never understood how they fawned over the woman who broke their mother's heart and marriage

I suspect William and Harry know way more about the goings on than we ever will and as such have been able to move forward with Camilla in a way that many of us find very strange.

Ch3wylemon · 13/12/2022 19:56

Whether or not Kate and Meghan have hair extensions / Botox / fillers is not headline news. Many women of their age do, especially if they are in the public eye. it's not unusual.

I'm not sure that other people's sexual positions are that interesting either, even if their extra marital affairs are.

My hunch is that Harry is broadly right about the favourable press coverage over years. Golden child vs naughty child. But the details are probably banal and that's why he looks like fool when he complains.

He could have been the cheeky prince who did good work.

She does have hair extensions, though (I know the hairdresser who does them) – so they’re also willing to lie about stories to do with the wife of the heir.

They might not be doing them in the future if she finds out she is gossiping to friends about it.

Prescottdanni123 · 13/12/2022 20:02

That's providing that there ever was a lie told to protect William.

I'd trust Pinnochio before he saw the error of his ways before I'd trust Harry and Meghan

lookluv · 13/12/2022 20:08

Just glad he is not a member of my family - spoilt brat who really wants to be King and bar taking out a hit on the whole family, he has no chance.

PicturesOfDogs · 13/12/2022 20:12

I just keep thinking I’m going to crack up if it is the tights thing.

Its one thing Meghan commenting on it, as she was there, but imagine him wading in and complaining about who made who cry over a pair of tights. 😂

Frenulumetta · 13/12/2022 20:20

I think it's more telling that they included footage of princess Michael of Kent or whoever she is wearing a racist brooch think that is saying she is the one who said about the colour of baby skin and surely she is quite irrelevant so as not to really matter like the elderly aunt or neighbour who lives in a different century to everyone else and you all ignore everything she says cos she's a mad old bat

I find it amazing how many people are ignoring the multiple times it’s been said the issue isn’t ‘who made who cry’, it’s the way the press spent literally years re-publishing the ‘it was Meghan with the tights in the palace dressing room’ narrative to push the ‘Kate good / Meghan bad’ narrative without anyone in the royal press offices lifting a finger to stop them.

The parties involved (whoever made whoever cry) should have been allowed to treat it as a minor tiff at a stressful time. The press wouldn’t let them and the KP press office did nothing to help.

antelopevalley · 13/12/2022 20:24

@Frenulumetta She was a working Royal until very recently.

I’ve already commented on this.

I said wasn’t it leaked in a Canadian report that Kate was a mean girl to Meghan because she wasn’t welcoming and didn’t take her out shopping?

It sounds like it’s tit for tat

strawberriesarenot · 13/12/2022 20:31

Why affairs? Surely royal affairs are two a penny.

I would guess William's university academic achievements had some very sympathetic manipulating. St Andrew's isn't for even the very slightly dim, is it?
Or maybe doing something stupid with a helicopter. Or a gun, up at Balmoral.

KitBumbleB · 13/12/2022 20:32

There have been affair rumours for years. Jecca Craig and Isabella Calthorpe off the top of my head. William dumped Kate for Isabella but she wouldn't have him.

There was also a picture of William groping a woman in a nightclub.

….. to wonder exactly WHAT specific lie was told to protect Price William ?

PicturesOfDogs · 13/12/2022 17:59

Wasn’t Meghan feeding stories to the press about Kate before tightsgate though?

There was that Canadian report that Kate had snubbed Meghan because she didn’t invite her shopping?

It all sounds like a massive game of tit-for-tat, getting more dramatic by the day

There was a story that meghan started the affair rumour.

AutumnCrow · 13/12/2022 20:38

Yes, could which prince shot dead which endangered species how many more times than the other one.

AutumnCrow · 13/12/2022 20:39

Sorry ^ it could be which^

No there's not. But you are saying an apparently happily married man with small children who has never identified as gay, who has lived his life as straight...you are claiming he's gay. With zero evidence.
That's disgusting.

No, that's completely oversimplifying what I actually did say, which you've taken entirely out of context.

I don't have a clue how he 'identifies' (how tiresome that word has become). I mentioned a far broader context, surrounding the ways in which people of that class place entirely different expectations on marriage from the narrower constraints placed upon it in other circles. These don't always involve fidelity as a priority; they do very much emphasize the right connections and the passing on of estates. To the general populace of 2022 this is straight out of Austen, but whilst 'agreements' such as this might not be a conventional norm for those who live in the modern world, nor for all the aristocracy, for some it's enough of an accepted practice to pass pretty much unremarked upon. (cf. Charles and Diana). The only usual code is that of discretion.

That Cholmondeley's sexuality is reputed as such is very much common currency: you can read it anywhere on the internet and it's neither new, salacious nor sensational. Nor does it matter. I'm relating it to the above context. It's by no means 'disgusting'. It's a well-accepted cultural norm.

notangelinajolie · 13/12/2022 20:49

The thing is why wouldn’t the palace protect William? He is going to be King - surely not too difficult for Harry to work out.

And to be honest, now that the real Harry is showing his true colours, Im pretty certain the palace must have covered up a fair few of Harry’s faux pas too. Harry didn’t come off too badly before Megan - he seemed well liked and I think most people had a soft spot for him.

CathyorClaire · 13/12/2022 20:51

There was also a picture of William groping a woman in a nightclub

Wills has been rumoured to be a bit handsy for years. Something about a lads only ski holiday (instead of a dutiful attendance at a Commonwealth games opening ceremony) and a female waist springs to mind. It never seems to go anywhere which ties in with his documented penchant for suppressing anything he doesn't like.

There was a story that meghan started the affair rumour

She's also credited with stealth photography of George although the ultimate nefarious plan for the shots has never been disclosed.

Oh to be a historian in a century's time...

Didn't they say it was a senior royal? I thought that was the only reason people didn't suspect Princess Pushy, awful as she is.

healthadvice123 · 13/12/2022 20:54

@notangelinajolie he was very well liked and I think thats the thing prob a lot we don't know and don't need to know

Frenulumetta · 13/12/2022 20:57

Mmm senior Royal or senior citizen Royal

healthadvice123 · 13/12/2022 20:57

@CathyorClaire or it doesn't go anywhere as not much in it, even in the photo he doesn't seem overly aware where his hand is as such and i have a picture like this with female friends , no one was aware until looked at photo later of badly places hands
The camera never lies phrase is very untrue
I mean did the lady in the photo comment on it ? She was there she knows the whole context of it

healthadvice123 · 13/12/2022 20:58

@ReneBumsWombats I don't remember them saying senior royal ?

Frenulumetta · 13/12/2022 20:58

I mean she is senior compared to some like say Beatrice isn't she? Or no? I get them confused as there is prince Michael of Kent and Duke of Kent isn't there?
