Am I wrong to think that a lot of parents should show empathy, and not boast about what they are getting their children for Christmas this year?
As everyone is aware we are currently in a cost of living crisis, where people are struggling to heat their homes and put food on the table.
I write this because there is a parent at my childs school, that is continuously boasting about what she is buying her children for Christmas, bearing in mind this said individual is on benefits, single parent with numerous baby fathers. She also takes out loans, uses BNPL Klarna/ClearPay.
One of the other mothers was very upset, and told me that she is struggling to buy her daughter presents this year and it makes her feel terrible, but then she has to hear people boasting.
I am fortunate enough to have not been hit by the cost of living crisis, but it makes me feel sick hearing other people boasting.
