Quality Street-smaller again?

I used to equate Christmas with Quality Street, I'm 57 so remember the original tin boxes, big boxes with a great and plentiful supply of all the flavours. For me especially the cracknell was a favourite, which was one of the first to go.

So I bought a box a few weeks ago and opened them this evening, how utterly depressing it is. Seems smaller , again, this year. Even the size of the triangles seems smaller although it was never a favourite. For some reason there is a change in the packaging of some and not others, some glittery some blah bland. Sorry I bought them. At this rate they will become an individual sweet purchase. How much lower can they go and still be a 'tinned' treat?

Celebrations seems to be the way to go from now on. Although they may be altering their sizes and quantities too.

The packaging change is because they’re introducing recyclable ones and just haven’t got through the whole lot yet.

They’ve never been as nice as Roses anyway, but I’m halfway through a tub for scientific research purposes and shall continue my endeavours.

The tin sizes generally stay the sane year on year. The tub sizes tend to get smaller, usually all the big manufacturers roughly align on a pack volume.

The plainer wrappers are because as a brand they are moving to sustainable (paper) packaging. Not as shiny and eye catching, but better for the planet.
The actual sweet sizes/weights haven't changed for many years.
