I am single mother of 2 and 3 year old. I feel absolutely burnt out, they keep breaking everything, making a mess etc. The whole apartment is filled with their scribbles. Ten mind ago the curtain rail broke as one of them pulled at them. I'm so exhausted, tired. My house is spotless for five minutes, they make so much mess. They are just so hyper the both of them, I can't keep my eyes for ten minutes.

I love being a mum, but no one told me that it will be this exhausting, mu anxiety flares alot now. I am just tired.

Yes nightmare! I'd recommend lowering your standards and clearing up kitchen and other rooms only once or twice a day of that, nothing has to be spotless, just clean enough to not get mice!

if that

I’m not a single parent but I find my toddler utterly exhausting and relentless. Sometimes I go to bed at the same time as him. You’re doing great!

When they're sleeping tonight, pick up everything they scribble with and put it all up out of reach.

Buy some magic sponges when you're shopping next, and you can tackle the murals and any other scribbles bit by bit.

If you can find the time, again, try to sort out toys and dump stuff that's broken.

Fold your remaining curtains up over the curtain rods.

See if you can find some megasketcher style toys so they can draw and write without mess. See if you can find a few Water WOW pads for them to 'paint' with water.

Try to corral them at a table for eating if they get food everywhere.

Use the bathtub if you have one for recreation for them. I used to put DCs into the bath on long winter afternoons.

Kids aged 2 and 3 can be like tornadoes ripping through a house and you feelnyoure just chasing your own tail most of the time, never getting a break and never making any progress. It can be maddening, but hang in there.
