Blankets
user1471543683 · 10/12/2022 15:41
Sorry this isn’t an AIbU put posting for traffic. A few years ago I was given a very thick Sherpa blanket that is so cosy. Even the cat fights us for a shot with it!!!! My kid are really cold in their rooms and I wanted to get a thick blanket for them. Does anyone know of a thick decent one that is reasonably priced. £25ish?
thanks
Am I being unreasonable?

If you won't find sherpa you like, I am a massive fan of "mink blankets". You could find them in many asian, middle eastern and balkan shops I think. They are amazing and really keep warm. I have 3 (brought from abroad).

I've been looking for one of these for years! I remember using these abroad and didn't know what they were thank you! They're lovely and so warm aren't they.

I know, I loved them so they have a specific name? I'm looking for a heavy one just like they use in the Middle East in winter.

Faux mink. ME asian shops with home stuff would have them here.
Or happily advise where to buy.
I had mine from inlaws abroad

Well DH said 100% available in Birmingham. Not much help probably 🙈

Yes. Mink blankets. If you've got a big street market nearby I'd bet the bedding traders will be selling them

Just had a look on eBay. Search for Heavy mink blanket. Loads for sale
Themind · 10/12/2022 18:26
Mink blankets all the way, you can get all sorts of patterns. We got ours from the market.

Thanks I found some 😍 I love the ones Alibaba has but they don't have that store here.

I have a Kilburn and Scott Sherpa type blanket I was given as a present before going into hospital. It is lovely!

This is my "brand".
Remember to get double layer one. That's the lovely heavy ones.

Just to add, alibaba is awholesale. If you find another 200 people to share order with you can get good price🙈

Lands End have lovely throws, some velour ones with faux sheepskin linings. Can have them monogrammed for £3.50 too. January sale will be your best bet though, they go half price then. I won't be swooping as I've bought them for everyone I know and each of my sofas have 2, ready for cold days ie now.
