Manage to get myself ready on time for a party... friend picking me up.. got myself ready, 1 year old pooping multiple times, throwing tantrums in the background and STILL I manage to be ready on time. My friend now 15 minutes late and counting.. has no kids.. no explanation as to where she even is.. is she on her way?!? My blood is boiling lol... maybe something to do with having a 1 year old screaming at me all day... aibu to be peed off?!??! Rant over!

You're not being unreasonable. I'm a very punctual person, so I expect everyone else to be the same, but unfortunately they're not. Unless it's an emergency, there's no excuse for lateness.

OurChristmasMiracle · 09/12/2022 17:22

If she’s driving she may be stuck in traffic and can’t use her phone whilst driving? There could have been an accident or roads shut off etc

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 09/12/2022 17:23

Probably de-icing her car.

Mercurial123 · 09/12/2022 17:23

Depends how late. 30 minutes fine an hour not so much.

2pinkginsplease · 09/12/2022 17:24

I hate lateness!

I always try my best to be early but sometimes it does happen that somethings happened to cause me to be late.

I had a friend who was constantly late and not just 5/10Mins more like 1 hr late. Notice I said had!

CharityShopChic · 09/12/2022 17:25

30 minutes late is not fine.

ouch321 · 09/12/2022 17:27

She's doing you a favour by giving you a lift so don't bitch about her on the internet. It's a bit crappy.

Heavyraindropsarefallingonmyhead · 09/12/2022 17:29

Is she normally late? Because if she isn't then I think you are being unreasonable

ElfHasBeenSilly · 09/12/2022 17:29

I cannot stand habitual lateness! If it’s a one off, fine. My ILs are always at least an hour late and it just does my head in. Their record was about 6 hours! They were meant to be here at 5 actually..

DeeCeeCherry · 09/12/2022 17:38

Occasional lateness is fine, Im not fussed about meeting at exact time either - & extreme lateness if I get a message letting me know whats happening, I can deal with.

Aside from that I swerve people who are always late. I do not care at all what the reason is. We aren't compatible and I'm not interested in the stress.

Learned my lesson when a good (consistently late) friend kept me waiting for 2 hours, we had my cousin's engagement celebration to go to. I'll never forget cousin's face when we walked in 45 minutes before event finished, and I never forgave my friend. I quietly dropped her.

Hope your friend did turn up OP. After 30 minutes Id be gone.
