My DS has had a virus and over the past two weeks he’s been full of snot. It seems to be this thick green snot that he can’t shift.
He's only 4 and he really struggles to blow his nose , I hold the tissue and tell him to blow, but he can’t get the hang of it.
I can see it all his nostrils (sorry) and it’s in his throat as he has to keep clearing his throat.
Poor thing is so full of mucous he sounds awful.

Took him to GP yesterday and they said it’s a virus and they can’t prescribe anything.

Sorry for this tmi but the snot is so thick , I’m not sure if this is normal.

He's having to breathe through his mouth constantly because his nose is so blocked up.

Cut out dairy for a few days, its really bad for mucus membranes

I hide certain boards so I don't see shite like this. What even is your AIBU? You can snot suction thing from the pharmacy. Some parents suck it out with their own mouth YUCK! Hope your poor mite gets well soon.

Lots and lots of water and make sure he spits out snot when he coughs it up.

Use a nasal spray if he won’t blow properly.
