NC for this, feeling surprisingly guilty.
We are lucky to have a comfortable income, including DH’s pensions. To our surprise we were notified this morning of a Cold Weather Payment deposit to our account in his name.
He is 71 and receives the universal Winter Fuel Allowance but according to gov.uk the CWP is means tested. He has never applied for it and, knock wood, cannot foresee doing so.
Does anyone know whether the means testing has been dropped? If not, how would we stop this? Various web sites give no clue.
