Trying to get DD into a private school half way through the year. There is a wonderful one not far from us, with a great reputation, very academic and outstanding facilities. Lots of availability in Reception classes.

Had a tour on Wed with another parent in a similar situation. At the end of the tour the Head teacher asked if we had any further questions and I said I'd like a private chat for about 5 mins, the other mum had the same request. She said that's absolutely fine, her TA was going to give us a call and arrange a phone appointment.

As soon as I got home the TA indeed called and we arranged a call for next day at 1pm. She did say they are quite busy so it might be 10 mins earlier or 10 mins later to which I said that's absolutely fine. She said if anything happens and the Head teacher won't be available, TA will let me know.

I was waiting for my call from 1 pm yesterday. They never called. I was very disappointed to say the least.

I know our current state primary is very busy too and being financially stretched and understaffed I think I'd be more understanding, but I thought they should have at least made me aware that I won't be receiving the call. AIBU?

They are breaking today so I won't be able to speak to anyone until beginning of Jan.

Did you call the office? I'd rave called around 1.20pm to ask if the head would be available soon as they had missed out appointment.

Wreat · 09/12/2022 10:42

My DD's state school breaks up next Friday so I don't think this is too early.
