The doctor saw pics of her rash and said it’s not typical of strep A

Seems some GPs are still being quite cautious with prescribing ABs, we got given a course for our DC for less than what you're describing - but that was a face to face appt not 111.

I think that temp is fine to leave her if she’s ok in herself (although I’m not a medical professional) I think it’s still considered a lower grade fever. My DD had that last night and temp had come down by morning.

Whoopsywoo · 08/12/2022 06:58

She’s at 39.5 now x

During a persistent fever, Calpol always did fuck all. I imagine it made them more comfortable but it was only ever Nurofen that brought them temp down.

If you are really worried call your Dr. There is an element of gut instinct about how ill they are.

They do tend to have a higher temp in the morning. Give her some more paracetamol and a drink, get her out of bed so the covers aren't keeping her hot, then check again in 30mins - 1hr and see if it has come down.

Ring them back and ask for her to be checked over.

Did it go down?

Whoopsywoo · 08/12/2022 21:41

She’s got a viral infection and antibiotics. She’s asthmatic and her oxygen levels have been from 92 to 97. Went to a and e when they were 92 but a 5 hour wait and a poorly child with stats going to 95 again and we came home. Will have to be vigilant tonight and on 4 hourly inhalers x

Oh your poor dd and poor you. What a worry. I'm glad she's been seen now (though what a wait) and I hope the antibiotics take effect very soon. Flowers
