Sofia or Gabriella?

Which do you prefer/thoughts on these names?

My Dd is Gabriella. She is known as Gabs, or Gab. It’s never been Gabby, just how it organically happened. Although I don’t hate it as a nickname.

Sofia / Sophia is nice too - there are quite a few around our area but it’s very classic. Can’t go wrong with it. Also our area is quite multicultural so I don’t know if it’s popular everywhere.

i have a Gabriella so utterly bias- love the name I liked the fact it sounds strong and elegant in its entirety but can be shortened to many options to suit whoever my daughter grows into

"Gab" is an absolutely hideous sound. I'm amazed by the ongoing popularity of Gabrielle and Gabriella. So ugly!

Sofia is nice but very popular.

They're both very pretty names. I obviously prefer Gabriella or even Gabrielle.

Gabrielle and Gabriella are gorgeous. Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria, so for that reason I'd spell it Sophia, which is lovely too.

My daughters middle name is Gabriella. Didn't choose as a first name as I knew it would get shortened!

I prefer Gabrielle, or Gabriella. I only know one, aged 25, and she is known as Gaby.
I am not so keen on Sofia, as I think it sounds a bit "soft." But if I were using it, I would spell it Sophia to prevent a lifetime of people spelling it incorrectly.
