Asda delivery

To cut a long story short my Asda groceries order didn’t turn up on Saturday. They logged it as delivered and I’m chasing and chasing on the customer services number. Just called again to be told someone from the refunds team will contact me in 48 hours. Nearly £100, no money to buy food now, 3 year old child. We’re running low on cupboard stock and tired of chasing them on the phone. We’re buggered, stressed. Does anyone know how else we can contact anyone to complain or try and get our money back.

This is why I now do the food shopping myself.

ToughAndDurable · 07/12/2022 15:34

@Plumbear2 we do too normally. But my son was really poorly this week, actually spend Friday night in the hospital so was so glad we’d booked at the time! Not anymore!

Twitter!

CosyWintersNight · 07/12/2022 15:37

They done this to me too and when nobody contacted me, I phoned up again and they said it hadn't been logged and that it would go through soon. Another 48 hours, I was less friendly this time round on the phone and they were pretty quick to send a refund. Haven't ordered from them since. It's happened to me twice.
It's such a hassle when you're depending on the food coming

Theopossumwasmeantforme · 07/12/2022 15:38

I always use twitter and get stuff sorted pretty quickly. It's just @asdaserviceteam

It's nice that you have the time, capacity and good health to do that. However, not everyone does.

FortyFacedFuckers · 07/12/2022 16:33

I always get an answer from asda groceries via twitter

SpinningFloppa · 07/12/2022 16:42

They did this exact thing to me I even made my own thread, same price £100 delivery with Asda was a no show, took a week to get a refund in the end I had to call my bank to sort it as it was taking so long!

Imthegingerbreadwoman · 07/12/2022 16:44

Happened to me 2 deliveries in a row. I had to reorder so out of pocket twice whilst waiting for the refund. The second also didn't turn up. I complained and just kept calling until I got the email saying I was being refunded. Luckily I have a credit card so I reordered but used morrisons instead. I did get all the money back but I have never gone back to asda. Their fresh fruit and veg is not too great either.

Had no issued with morrisons

Thanks everyone for the useful advice. I’ve just created a Twitter and made a post so hopefully they’ll see it. They said within 48 hours someone would call me back but nobody has, that’s all they say when I call.

We had it happen before in the summer but the driver broke down; they called, cancelled and refund was straight with us, 24 hours or something. This time it says delivered so they’ve charged us and said we’ve had it when we haven’t.

Theyve sent us a £10 gift card but put it on the groceries account so can’t even use it as £10 would be the delivery charge + small basket. So it’s useless. Hopefully via Twitter they can sort it so I can go after work tomorrow. If not it’ll be a very long weekend until we get paid next week.

thank you for all your help!

I really do think that anywhere that takes food orders should have to have the facility to refund immediately if they cancel an order. Not tomorrow, not in 5-10 working days, immediately.

Daffodilis · 07/12/2022 17:35

This is why I use Ocado, they don't take money out of your account until the order has been delivered.

Mmmmdanone · 07/12/2022 17:36

This happened to me once. No explanation. I didn't understand how they could have just not delivered stuff without a call or something and then say it had been..did someone else get my stuff? Got a refund eventually. Hope you get it sorted

They didnt take my money until it had been "delivered"..it just wasn't delivered if you see what I mean.

I understand that. Asda take the money the day before, I didn't like that with them. Least now when I order from Ocado I get the food before they take payment. Not much help knowing that though. Hope they sort it for you.

I ordered an express delivery with asda for Monday. Was invited out but declined as I was waiting for my shopping. They cancelled during the time slot. I ordered again today. Slot was 4.00-5.00pm. Didn't show up so called customer services. While on the phone to them the app then showed my order as cancelled. Will never order from them again.
