GP Appointments

Am I being unreasonable to phone for a Pre bookable appointment without stating the reason?
I dislike talking to the reception staff as it makes me think why did I even bother asking for a review Appointment.
I was told no bookings allowed the last week before Christmas unless its urgent.!
Also how long are standard App these days? 10 or 15 mins? ( I know you can be in and out in 5 mins or less)

Of course you aren’t unreasonable. I didn’t think I was either until I turned up and they realised that what I needed was not done by the GP I was booked in with. So me not telling them wasted an appointment and my time so I guess while it’s annoying I get why they do it.

Surely they ask so they can make sure they book you in with the right person? And (following on from your point about how long are appointments) - they can book you in for the right length of appointment?

They said I had to phone at 8 am on the week of the 19th.
Which I did not really want to as it may be very difficult to get through.
