I don’t think it’s Scarlett fever, but tongue is really sore, it feels like when you’ve burnt it.
It looks really odd too. What do people think?

I’m currently on antibiotics for tonsillitis.

How long have you been on antibiotics?
Could it be thrush?

Christmaspuddings · 07/12/2022 09:24

Been on them since Sunday.

Hi OP - as you've mentioned being on antibiotics, this could be oral thrush. From memory, I think you can get the medication over-the-counter. It used to be an ointment that tasted like cherries.

There's also something else called 'burnt mouth syndrome'. No treatment alas, but avoiding hot/spicy foods for a few days should help.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Agree with thrush. Antibiotics always give me oral thrush.

CuriousMama · 07/12/2022 09:25

Yes oral thrush

No idea sorry but my tongue feels the same, the burnt feeling. No antibiotics but I do have a cough/feel rubbish. Interested to know why it feels like that.
