His fur there is just so soft. And warm and smells all doggy and lovely. I just love him so much.
DP is looking at me like I've taken leave of my senses.

Me too! And his feet always smell like really sweet biscuits

CrappyUsername · 07/12/2022 08:46

I love the smell of my dog's head. I also like sniffing his paws; they smell of wotsits or sometimes cheesey Doritos!

Arsewangry · 07/12/2022 18:21

Oh I used to love sniffing my dogs head and miss it terribly, and under his neck smelled all biscuity and delicious. And his cheesy wotsit toes. He died last Christmas and we haven't felt ready to get another dog yet, but this has made me terribly broody! He smelled of toffee popcorn when he was a puppy 🥰

Here's my little stinker

Head kisses and sniffs are the best. They just smell delicious. I'm also partial to an ear too.

TheDogsMother · 07/12/2022 18:41

I used to sniff my Jack Russell's soft, soft ears. Miss him so much 😢

Tisfortired · 07/12/2022 18:42

Oh I love sniffing my dogs head! I do it so much he comes to expect it and will jump up to me and put his face to mine with his head down slightly so I can sniff and kiss him 😂 DP also thinks I am a lunatic.

I also like to sniff his little popcorn paws and massage them whilst we watch telly. Nobody else in the family gets this treatment.

KrystynaZ · 07/12/2022 18:42

I always loved the smell of my horse's breath.

Love that musty biscuit tin sniff 😊

Ihateboris · 07/12/2022 18:47

I couldn't agree more. The loveliest smell in the world. Do you guys find stroking your dog therapeutic and calming? If I've had a crappy day, I just have to stroke my dog and I'm instantly chilled out 😊

iamjustwinginglife · 07/12/2022 18:53

I don't think I've ever sniffed the top of my dogs head...I'm off to give it a go!!

FearofQueefing · 07/12/2022 19:00

I LOVE that warm doggy smell.

Horses smell lovely too.

My long haired chihuahua, Bella, I love kissing the top of her head, tummy rubs, snuggles, fluffing up her ruff, running my fingers through her fur, playing with her ears, little paws and tail

The paws are where it's at.

CaptainMyCaptain · 07/12/2022 19:11

I do it. I love her smell - unless she's been rolling in fox poo.

tinselvestsparklepants · 07/12/2022 19:14

It is the best smell in the world.

1Sky · 07/12/2022 19:23

I love popcorn paws and biscuit heads

Dp is away at the moment so the cocker sneaks in bed with me for cuddles

Christmasbird · 07/12/2022 19:46

My dogs head still smells like puppy to me but my brother says it smells like fart spray 😂

HoundOfTheBasketballs · 07/12/2022 20:14

@Ihateboris When you stroke your dog, both you and them release oxytocin, the "happiness" hormone. It is actual science that stroking dogs is good for you.

I am now off to sniff my dog's paws on the back of all your recommendations!

Thé top of my cat's head used to have a floral smell.

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 07/12/2022 20:23

Aww I used to love nuzzling the soft fur on the top of my rough collie’s head. So comforting. I can’t remember the smell though.

I sniff my dog's head while I say "I love you I love you I love you" in a really quiet voice

This is also me. Love my puppy’s beautiful little head.

I was just about to sit beside the dog on "her" sofa to do this but ds2 (17) is already there talking to her Smile

LadyEloise1 · 07/12/2022 20:42

My dog is dead many years now but I can still remember the smell of him. 💔
