His fur there is just so soft. And warm and smells all doggy and lovely. I just love him so much.
DP is looking at me like I've taken leave of my senses.

6 years since my boy crossed to
rainbow bridge everyone used ro
say his feet smelt bad but I loved them and his velvet ears ❤️❤️ miss that boy so much.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 06/12/2022 20:07

I also felt the same way about my horses face. The indent just above his nostril was so smooth and silky. And the smell of him was lovely.

Georgeskitchen · 06/12/2022 20:11

I love to smell my cats fur, always smells so clean and fresh, despite the fact that cat breath is so unutterably disgusting 😅😅

SecretVictoria · 06/12/2022 20:13

My dogs ears also smell biscuity, DH thinks I’m bonkers 😛

Bobbie1976 · 06/12/2022 20:13

Best thing ever. I suck on my cats ears sometimes and sniff his fur and kiss his nose and just love him so much. Go for it :)

DomesticShortHair · 06/12/2022 20:15

I’ve never sniffed the top of your dog’s head, and quite frankly, I resent the accusation

Though if it ever comes down to it and sniffing your dog becomes mandatory, I’d definitely much rather sniff his head than the alternative. So put me on the head list, thanks.

He looks lovely, by the way!

PenguinLove1 · 06/12/2022 20:17

I love snuggling with my dog after she has a nap, sleeping always makes her smell really sweet its lovely

Brigante9 · 06/12/2022 20:21

It’s the feet for me. One of mine (wild!) smells doggy most of the time because he flashes round the woods and is low to the ground so gets wet then dries-stinkily. Little one on the right.

To love to sniff the top of my dog's head?

I love to stroke their heads, all soft and silky fur, they do smell doggy though. But about 10 minutes ago mine were fed (with sardines as an appetizer) and then came to find me so I too could share the excitement. Bleurgh
And the cat adores being picked up and squished a bit while I kiss him and tell him just how handsome he is.

zimmerreturn · 06/12/2022 20:21

Yes it's called furfume Smile

@Brigante9

Thank you! The youngsters-two behind-are just over a year. We always get two and these two are just fabulous. Little liver and white stinky one is a mummy’s boy, on my knee currently.

Here is my boy and I love to kiss his face and smell his fur especially top of his head and ears 🥰 my little best friend x

EnglishMuffins · 06/12/2022 20:38

I love to sniff the top of my cat’s head. Smells like nutmeg. The fur behind her ears is so soft , I could kiss it all day long. Love her so much.
Glad I’m not the only nutter who sniffs and kisses the dpets 🙃

DillDanding · 06/12/2022 20:39

I breathe in and kiss my dog's head at least 20x per day. Plus I spend some extra time kissing him before I go up to bed. He probably gets 100 times more kisses than my husband or kids.

YANBU. But to me it’s to cuddle up to my DCats; the fur behind their ears is so soft 😍

The softest bit is on the inside of their front legs 😍

KILM · 06/12/2022 20:50

I was already on board and then you revealed it was a spaniel and i was like YES 😁
My dog smells so good and she still has a little of that puppy sweetness too.

Soubriquet · 06/12/2022 20:50

I much prefer sniffing the paws. It’s like fresh popcorn

FfeminyddCymraeg · 06/12/2022 20:52

I love sniffing my girls’ ears (slightly cheesy) and foot pads (biscuity).

Literally makes my BP drop instantly ❤️

MollyRover · 06/12/2022 20:55

My little one definitely smelled like biscuits. Miss that soft warm snuggle every day.

ilovepixie · 06/12/2022 21:00

I love smelling my dogs head and his wee feet too.

Facecream · 06/12/2022 21:15

I miss my old beagle boy - his ears smelled like malted milk biscuits and were long and soft and like velvet.
My only living dog smells of poo a lot which is grim but she’s as soft as a cat and I love her but I never bury my head in her fur cause she doesn’t have that big ruff around the neck my old beautiful boy did 🥲

GenderCriticalTrumpets · 06/12/2022 21:16

I love sniffing my puppy! He smells doggy now but I still love it. And his cheesy feets. But not his gross farts

FizzyStream · 06/12/2022 21:19

I like paws. Dogs or cats. They smell like freshly baked bread or biscuits mmmmmm.

5128gap · 06/12/2022 21:24

When I was pregnant with DD I couldn't tolerate the smell of DH cooking dinner. The only way I could cope was to bury my nose in ddogs head and sniff her like a pomade. I held on to her in early labour too. She 'kissed' me on each contraction. I miss her.
