Christmas drinks

As a single mum I hate spending Christmas alone which has happened many years! This year a family member actually invited us for Christmas drinks on the 16th of December. But I feel hurt and rejected as this isn't at Christmas or during Christmas. What do you think? I feel like I'm just an inconvenience but he feels obligated to have us over even if its outside of the traditional Christmas period.

But surprised tbh as if we had a family member who would spend Xmas alone we’d invite them- but do you invite anyone- perhaps it’s not just on them to invite you?

Have you asked any family members or friends if you could join them for Christmas Day?
