Training in IT / whiteboards in schools

I have been asked to do some short term cover /supply teaching by an excellent school. I am a retired teacher .I was reasonably successful - deputy head / head of department etc. Haven’t taught for 3 years. Been working supporting vulnerable young people. Haven’t used an interactive whiteboard for ages. AI B U to think there should be some sort of online training I could do ,before I walk into a school and make a complete idiot of myself? Believe me ,it’s very stressful just walking into a Year 11 class in an enormous school as it is - being able to quickly choose and click on the right icons seamlessly ,would make a big difference! Usually one has about 5 mins at the start of the day to locate the classroom and walk in. The management don’t like you getting there early either !

Do you know what boards they have? Probably find that they're interactive TV's so you click on them with your finger/a pen as if it were a mouse.
Failing that get in early to practise!

There are lots of video tutorials on YouTube but as pp said, it’s going to depend entirely on the system they use.

Mmmm …. As I said they don’t allow supply in school early… I can click away, but if I’m not using correct icons or accessing correct content it’s pointless. If I make a mistake it will show on their iPads !!

As a supply teacher I often had to arrive at a school at short notice. I used to get one of the students to show me how the boards worked. There are a few different systems.
