DH lost all respect for me

I've just come clean to DH that I pre-ordered a copy of 'Spare'.

He says he's lost all respect for me as an sensible human being.

Am I being unreasonable in wanting to read it, and in doing so am liking the Sussex's pockets?

Further context - DH was like, the Daily Mail will publish most of it anyway so don't buy it.

YANBU - Read what you want to read, don't care about where the money goes (lighthearted)
YABU - Don't line their pockets

YABU for being with someone whose advice is to read the daily mail.

I don't understand. Is he saying it in a jokily fashion? I can't see why buying the book would cause a dilemma, less a moral one r.e. lining their pockets, at all. I'll probably pick up a copy too.
