How long until these antibiotics kick in?

Started this morning. On two tablets, four times a day for 10 days for tonsillitis.
My throat is still so very painful to swallow and it’s red raw. I thought there might be some improvement by now? Or will it likely be tomorrow morning when it’s 24 hours ?

I agree, 2-3 days. Every day feels like forever when you are in pain doesn't it...I hope you feel better soon!
Keep taking the painkillers too

I've always thought antibiotics aren't working until I'm a good way through the course. Probably day 5 or 6 before I ever notice an improvement. Sorry you're feeling rubbish, tonsillitis sucks. 💐

should start feeling them working after 24 hours or so.

in the meantime medicated throat sweets can help.

Get the chloraseptic throat spray - it numbs your throat and is brilliant for tonsillitis

Hope you feel much better soon ❤️. I'm on antibiotics for tonsillitis too - day four here. I'm shattered as it's followed on from an earlier viral long illness starting 12 November. Keep hydrated 💐, take painkillers for the rubbish feeling and just rest.
