The NHS

Is there anywhere the NHS isn’t being affected by the current crisis?

I’ve had to call an ambulance three times in the past few months. Febrile convulsion, suspected burst appendix and serious car accident. Every time told the wait is at least two hours unless the patient has stopped breathing.

Our GP surgery is still functioning very well but not being able to access emergency care is terrifying.

I understand that there is an issue with being unable to discharge patients (Convalescent homes would be an option but that’s another thread.)

is there anywhere that’s not being affected or is it the whole of Britain?

How about other countries or is this specifically a British thing?

So guessing it’s everywhere?

Population increased. Money and budget hasn't. Council cut backs meaning homes and day care key services have been stopped. Care homes now mainly private who agree to take in patients but cannot always meet the needs.
mental Health services over the last 10 years have gone to private tender rather than NHS trust and haven't been able to meet the needs of patients
a&e's throughout the UK have closed whilst the Tory's have been in charge. Population hasn't shrank!
nhs salary and pension has shrank and workload and responsibilities increased two fold.
GP's burnt out ++and many are leaving the profession for a better work life balance abroad
Tory party promise more nurses. Same record! 😡

You’d think that they’d have more or at least the same money with the expanding population as more people are paying tax/NI? It’s shocking.

I wonder how it’s done in Scandinavia and how they’re faring now?

Why didn’t you drive to the hospital for appendicitis? I’m guessing it wasn’t you?

Scandinavian countries pay very high tax.

These lengthy delays for ambulances have been going on for some time - long before Covid. When was the last time you heard this government prioritising the health of the population and it's essential NHS?

In fact - when was the last time you heard anything from this government?

Johnson started this strategy of hiding from the press, evading journalist scrutiny and saying nothing as if everything was somebody else's problem.

Don't worry!
Rishi is announcing maths to 18 years old for all UK pupils
Fucking shambles

Sainsburys have just announced they have increased their wages to £11 an hour. This is more than a band 2 health support worker with less stress. And people wonder why there are no staff!
